Well finally after changing the format of their selling platform it seems every couple of weeks you have come up with the ultimate level of stupidity with this latest total ridiculous set of changes. Nobody is going to wait what could be weeks to be paid for a item they have sold who ever dreamt up this idea much be so far from reality as needing to push every part time seller off the site. I knew when they came up with the idea of free selling it wouldn’t be long before the idiots that run eBay came up with totally and ridiculous idea to claw back the money they have lost the whole senior management team at EBay must seat round a table all wearing clown costumes saying what is the most stupid idea we can come with to really get rid of half of our customers and the biggest clown wins with this idea and all the other yes people follow. Well I had started selling a few bits again but never again and will not be using EBay again to sell anything it has become a total joke of a company I hope your poor and flawed decisions finally catch up with this once great place to buy and sell has become a total joke.

yup, cancelled my listings on Friday and wont be back unless they get rid of this latest rubbish. sad really after so many years on the ebay platform but then by the same token ebay has become dead in the last few years, i mainly shop on Amazon and only come to Ebay for 2nd hand part for things.

I've just been told I will be able to opt out of Simple Delivery
04-02-2025 11:44 AM
Regardless, they've fallen.
04-02-2025 11:45 AM
Unless there has been an update I understood that was for now, but at some point in Q1 it will become mandatory.

'I've just been told I will be able to opt out of Simple Delivery'
Yes... at the moment.
By the end of spring this year it will be mandatory.
The CEO of ebay has said so and I believe him. (mainly 'cos he'd look like a complete twonk to the shareholders if it didn't actually happen, and big business bods don't like looking silly....!)

Have they? you ask! Yes they have regardless of the reason they have so the comment is factually correct

Maybe look at daily figures.

The point I'm trying to make is you haven't clue what you're on about, you made a statement that is not true, well unless you can see into the future.
Do you know what a downward trend is? A stock price will make lower lows and lower highs, I can't see any evidence of this over the last 6-12 months, you want to see the graphs? They would have seen a sell off yesterday in anticipation to start the downward trend.
In 2022, there were 18.3 million active sellers on eBay, do you think a few 100,00 ending their listings and refusing to buy will affect the share price? I highly doubt that many would have ended all listings anyway.

I was asking for the future not for right now.

As I repyed to another reply - I was asking in terms of the future not currently

I am looking at the daily figures, I follow the markets due to having sizable investments across many companies.
All shares took a hit yesterday due to Trump, but most pulled back before the markets closed last night.

You seem to be well informed about all this eBay stuff... almost too well informed...

'I was asking for the future not for right now.'
Well *if* ebay have rolled back the Simple Delivery idea, I'd be chuffed to bits! (that'd mean I could keep going on here).
Unfortunately if you got an answer from a.n.other CS rep on the telephone, I'd be inclined to disbelieve them. ☹️( they have been known just to say what you want to hear to get you off the phone, so they can meet their 'calls answered with x amount of time' targets)
I'd be more inclined to believe the CEO ; as long as he wants to keep his job that is....

Haven't a clue?
I love that there are people from all walks of life here sharing their opinions and knowledge so we can all learn. Having worked in FOREX in London dealing with the global stock market and observing "manipulation" and " trends" in real time, I probably have a little more " insight" than you anticipate. Admittedly I do not have a magic " glass ball" to see in to the future , but not all is what it seems; that is all I am prepared to say other than " time will tell" as I have previously stated ... eBay Inc is a multi -billion dollar company, it is not just eBay UK - many factors come into play, and they have their hands in many " pies" ... @game_raid .. Clock is ticking 😁

What clock is this? eBay is 20% of what we do these days, we could close our listings today and it wouldn't make much difference.
Our wholesale business does very well, plus the website and the other marketplaces we sell on.
04-02-2025 12:36 PM
LOL - The "time" clock... really do you need to ask?
04-02-2025 12:37 PM
Now eBay are losing private sellers in droves, they'll be targeting business sellers next by increasing fees by some devious way or trying the same trick of offering an additional 'service' such as they did through the BPF that's actually nothing of the sort, just another lie to bolster their profits by their grasping greedy hands.
04-02-2025 12:38 PM
This is nothing personal to you and your business, nor about overnight " closings"... this is about the " market"...
" time will tell"...

Please share, I make a nice steady income from my dividend shares and always look to buy when there is crash.
You must have some insider knowledge?
