Well finally after changing the format of their selling platform it seems every couple of weeks you have come up with the ultimate level of stupidity with this latest total ridiculous set of changes. Nobody is going to wait what could be weeks to be paid for a item they have sold who ever dreamt up this idea much be so far from reality as needing to push every part time seller off the site. I knew when they came up with the idea of free selling it wouldn’t be long before the idiots that run eBay came up with totally and ridiculous idea to claw back the money they have lost the whole senior management team at EBay must seat round a table all wearing clown costumes saying what is the most stupid idea we can come with to really get rid of half of our customers and the biggest clown wins with this idea and all the other yes people follow. Well I had started selling a few bits again but never again and will not be using EBay again to sell anything it has become a total joke of a company I hope your poor and flawed decisions finally catch up with this once great place to buy and sell has become a total joke.

That is a very big assumption. Ebay has thousands of private sellers and only a very small percentage of them are on here complaining. Many of us don't have a problem with the holding of funds.

To repeat myself, I don't have a problem with payment holds whether that is for a week or three weeks. Also, ther are a few more unhappy private sellers commenting on here but it is STILL a very small percentage of the total.

Just keep a watch out for this month's instalment of the ebay box set entitled "Ebay Sales Dead -- January / February / March / April etc".

Oh really....whenever I've had a problem I found it easy to speak to a human. I just tell the bot I need to speak with an agent and you then get the option for them to call you back. Eachh time it's been very quick and usually they HAVE helped.

Ah well it's a start certainly.

That may be so but a lot of people who never engage in forums can still be unhappy and may decide to call up and complain. Fair enough if you dont mind these new rules but a lot of us need that money and dont try to sell stuff for entertainment, even if it can be fun at times. 🙂

Going by logged in users here there are definitely loads that aren't posting for one reason or another.
At one point the other day there were over 3100 logged in, but post wise, maybe 20-50. I didn't count, but I'd wager that's a fairly accurate guess.

I've both bought direct from royal mail and royal mail via ebay (because, if you have no cleared money, the postage is taken from the pending, but also if you have money sitting there it might as well get used, so not a direct outlay). Both will show delivered - so long as you remember to add the tracking if bought from RM; and you remember to add the tracking when you have posted 2 items together - my mother forgot to add to the 2nd item, someone had made an offer on 2 items and course they won't combine, they are seperate sales.
I have arranged collection through ebay twice but the collection on one was a day later than it would have been, so just do it through RM.
But the postie bringing a label: not sure that is possible through ebay. When a prolonged power cut I bought postage via RM with postie bringing label.

Before these latest restrictions on Private sellers you would be lucky to find a few hundred logged-in.
The (silent) majority never have engaged on the forums but ebay has been loosing private sellers for years. Every time the site changes and there is outrage on the boards, another swathe just give up and silently walk away.
I sell on ebid and see some of them arrive. I've only seen two waves as big as these restrictions have provoked, one when the US govt. demanded that ebay collect every seller's NI number and the second when ebay sellers lost the use of paypal and their Wallets.
Ebay knows it's going to lose more private sellers when SD is imposed and more again as it tries collecting NINOs in the UK.

I've moved the Ebid as well, hard to start over after 21 years but i have made a couple of sales and at least i have control over everything and can treat buyers with respect. All my listings are ended not yet deleted but i can't see any point in relisting them now just waiting for the last bit of pending money

I think it's a lot easier than someone starting new on ebay would find it these days! One tip, log-in regularly, buyers know to look at your "Recent Activity" date before buying 😉
I think you'll find their boards a lot friendlier than these if you have questions.

it also works for me, 16 items sold, 15 payment went in 2 days after delivery marked and 1 was not marked as delivered but i got the payment on the 13th day. So although it would be nice to get it straight away, so far e bay are doing what they said.

I rarely post on forums but a private seller for over two decades and proud of my unblemished record. My ‘hoarded stuff’ is an eclectic mix with selling mainly preloved clothing and household items with a few vintage items whilst also helping to downsize for family and close friends.
The changes on eBay impact both buyers and sellers with these ill thought out new policies and changes. IMO eBay management have truly shot themselves in the foot.
As I have had declining interest in my eclectic mix of family and friends items to sell over the last five months it is probably time to move on....so at present considering my options. I do use a dress agency for some of my designer clothing and they get very good prices without any hassle.
Vinted possibly will open an account with them instead. Some surplus household, chinaware I will box up and take to auction to clear.
Previously I used to get one or two eBay messages a week and on average a couple of sales every week but over the last five months a steady decline. November and December were poor compared to previous years . I have had one sale in March since buyers fees were added and all my items listed, eBay revised the prices. I am even not sure buyers can see my stuff because I don’t want to pay to promote my listings.
I started to absorb the extra cost added to the buyer by reducing my prices and on many items free tracked postage. Basically I have now lost heart as initially I take a long time to list items with clear accurate descriptions and would be putting spring clothing and unwanted household items on now.
With all these changes and now eBay simple delivery it doesn’t seem worth the effort for me and like many on here totally disenchanted. I prefer to deal with my own postal arrangements and get the best deal especially if absorbing the cost. Then a delay in payments being made to you waiting for positive feedback .....we all know that a large percentage of the buying public don’t do that!
Private sellers once they leave you will be left with a very uninteresting platform for buyers who will revert to other sites for their purchases.
I have probably spent a good proportion of my sales on buying on eBay for the family, home and gifts but more than likely once I stop selling on the site will cease purchasing from business/private sellers to the extent I have in the past. The knock on effect will clearly impact those remaining traders hard.
So with a heavy heart time for me to move on I think but good luck to those that remain.
Au revoir, bon voyage or as we say in Wales, Iechyd Da.
