Well finally after changing the format of their selling platform it seems every couple of weeks you have come up with the ultimate level of stupidity with this latest total ridiculous set of changes. Nobody is going to wait what could be weeks to be paid for a item they have sold who ever dreamt up this idea much be so far from reality as needing to push every part time seller off the site. I knew when they came up with the idea of free selling it wouldn’t be long before the idiots that run eBay came up with totally and ridiculous idea to claw back the money they have lost the whole senior management team at EBay must seat round a table all wearing clown costumes saying what is the most stupid idea we can come with to really get rid of half of our customers and the biggest clown wins with this idea and all the other yes people follow. Well I had started selling a few bits again but never again and will not be using EBay again to sell anything it has become a total joke of a company I hope your poor and flawed decisions finally catch up with this once great place to buy and sell has become a total joke.

Found it...cheers, will investigate later on.

Yes if you use simple delivery you will save on the cost if you allow both options. If you only use one option they are going to charge more so the buyer will be put off buying. Many people will refuse to use Evri and others can only have collection which is RM. It's not about the deals with couriers. SD needs to be read very carefully i am saying what was there in the small print

Oh I missed that bit, thanks for mentioning it. I can only use Royal Mail for their free collection and Evri are imho useless so would never choose that option, so yet another reason why I personally cant continue here.
Dang, this is all just so very silly. 😑

Special Delivery is not really a practical option for the vast majority of private sellers with items listed in the £2-£20 area. As far as I rememner without checking, prices start at about £9.
Also, you are doing your buyers a disservice, and making them pay more by including the price of postage in the cost of the item.
Ebay is adding a 4% fee onto prices so your buyers are having to pay that on postage.
If you listed and charged postage separately, your buyers would pay slightly less in fees to Ebay.

as long as i can still take my parcel to the post office and pay over the counter i do not care. It is if i have to buy from e bay or give the buyer the choice of who they want that i am opposed to.

and to that last comment i say - how unusual!!!

Well I suppose that might work with a higher value item...I already usually offer lower price things with free postage and always send RM48 tracked. But for a higher, albeit more secure postage cost It could just end up not being worth selling smaller things if we sacrifice a proportion of the total cost in order to ensure delivery is recorded and triggering of payment into our accounts. I have to mull all this over a bit longer and having just looked at the other site, not sure I like the look of it overly much 🤔

But I thought in order for the item to get into ebay's system you have to purchase the label on ebay. If you buy postage direct from RM and just enter the tracking number somewhere will that hold up payment or comply with these rules. ? I used to buy direct because I have to have things collected and that didn't seem possible to arrange if buying through ebay, but that has now changed and it's easy.

First and LAST item I’ll sell on eBay.
Horrible experience so far. Any other place is better for selling items. eBay feels as though they’re only looking out for buyers.
No protection in place for me, as a seller, and am left without an item and with no funds. Feels like I got mugged! Got in touch with Customer support and was told to give it another 24 hours and that they’ll call back to confirm it was resolved. The funds never arrived and they never called, so had to request another phone call just to be told that, even though customer collected and now left positive feedback, 48 hours have passed, they’re withholding the funds for 30 days stating that it’s to “protect both buyers and sellers”.
So, the way I see it is basically my item’s in somebody else’s possession to freely use and abuse for 30 days during which they can just decide that it’s not for them, invoke a silly reason and force a return down my throat. They’ll get the money back from eBay and, if I’m lucky, I get a used and abused item - if unlucky, I get a box of potatoes sent back.
FIRST and LAST time I’m selling anything here.
eBay can get binned!

When you are new to eBay and selling for the first time, eBay hold your funds for up to 30 days. It is in their policy. For more established sellers they now hold all Private account sellers funds until 48hours AFTER successful delivery ( tracked) and untracked is 14 days.. it can be more as some sellers ( even long timers) are experiencing.

I was just thinking....given everybody seems v unhappy with all of this, what if they are inundated with calls of complaints and people do start walking away. Wonder what might be the chances they may ameliorate in some way, like perhaps not holding to the 14 day rule and maybe even immediately paying sellers once confirmation of delivery has triggewred ?

My guess would be in their bank account and praps with interest rates currently seemingly on the way down, this is a last hoorah for them to make decent returns on OUR money.🤣

Interestingly enough they have announced today that it will now be 8 days instead of 14 where Simple Delivery is used plus payment will be released immediately for both tracked and untracked items £25 and under if positive feedback is received.
