Downward Trend in Sales- October 2025

Hello everyone, how are you doing?

There has been a downward trend in our sales from start of last week . We have a business account and everything has been normal up unitil last week. We are slowly going away from ebay platform due to fees structure but I find it really difficult that some days our payouts have gone to less than £10. 

We have checked everything on our account but still struggling to understand as why there is been this downward trend.

If a buyer doesn't collect the item it's then automatically returned be to the sender's address after 3 days, or 8 days depending on the courier. I understand small items that can be put though the letter box. Most items I purchase are usually bigger than the letter box. I do understand the compensation thing with sellers, but buyers are also concerned about the compensation thing. As buyers often say there is no communication if items are delivered at the wrong address. Or delivered at the right address outside the front door to often taken. Click and Collect for many is a much safer option for buyers these days. Vinted for my  is my first goto as just about every message has Click and Collect turned on in the settings. It's really difficult on eBay to find sellers that do Click and Collect so often now give up searching for items to buy.

If you read the click and collect terms for sellers on eBay the collection point is authorised to dispose of the items if they are not collected.  They can choose to return them to the sender but are not obliged to.  The seller, on the other hand, is obliged to refund the buyer regardless.  At least that's what it said last time I looked, which was sometime this year.  I nearly took click & collect off my listings at that point.  Then eBay flashed up a notice saying that taking it off would be likely to reduce the visibility of my listings...

If the label has no return address then I guess it will not be returned if not collected for whatever reason. My local shop do return to sender if not collected within 8 days. Inpost do return to sender after 3 days if not collected.
