Someone found the dates yesterday and posted them. Just thought it made sense to make it easier to find.
It's in the Help Section under Opt out
Simple Delivery will be the only listing option as of 15th April and they will start adjusting current listings from the 7th April.
So at least we know where the Iceberg is now.

Anyone else noted than above 2kg, next size is £12 (up to 15kg)...what buyer is going to pay that?
There is no in between size of 2-5kg...why??????
Previously if you sent it would be around £6-7
Has Ebay thought of one single benefit for all the long term sellers that have made millions for them over the years?
02-04-2025 10:14 AM
Ebay claims you can still do it...but I have had same problem
02-04-2025 10:23 AM
I will definitely be removing expensive items and am already looking at other places to sell or on own website
I already pack very well and use UPS for decent items
Evri and RM are capable of damaging anything no matter how well packed
People who have junk from their Grandads attic might not care whether one item gets smashed and they lose money, but I do, and I am not going to risk it or can afford to lose hundreds of pounds on repeated broken/lost items
Does ANYONE honestly think EVRI and RM are going to 'up their game' and look after items better than they did before?

Not that we’ll get any sensible answers but the online chat today at 2pm might be interesting? Wouldn’t be surprised if it doesn’t happen as I suspect they’ll be overwhelmed with SD complaints.

I spoke on the phone to them....
and he wan't very 100% convincing on whether Ebay would be automatically paying out...like they are leading you to believe
02-04-2025 10:58 AM
plus 'performance fees'...if you don't sell enough
02-04-2025 11:00 AM
Ebay are definitely NOT assuming all compensation costs, they claim they are merely facilitating 'easy delivery labelling'
YOU the seller will have most responsibility as you currently have
02-04-2025 11:00 AM
I never had reason to before
02-04-2025 11:03 AM
I can't believe what they are doing to sellers....as if they don't matter
Does Ebay not know it takes a buyer and seller to make a transaction and generate Ebay fees?

Personally and I know people will hate me for saying this but I’m not completely against SD because I can see how it could be beneficial to some. But I can see the cons as well which far outweigh the pros.
that’s why I taking a stand and pausing sales because the biggest of the cons that is making it mandatory, this I fear will rock the boat one rock to many and capsize it.
SD should be kept optional as it won’t work for everyone especially people like me who live far out the way from everything. And have limited options and it’s a rather blind choice to make it mandatory as it will exclude many from the equation.
I know there is more to it than that but the guess work and higher postage cost part etc are I fear only the tip of the iceberg that is looming upon the horizon.
I just can’t understand how they expect this SD thing to go as perfectly as they seem to be expecting it to.
ebay just comes across as so out of touch that they have now failed us all.
Life isn’t perfect nor is it fair and just. That I know. I understand sometimes change is necessary in order to progress further but with SD this particular change I can’t see how it will be progress more a step back.

It won't go perfectly because ebay added simple delivery to one of my listings last week without me knowing. The item sold and was paid for. The problem is it was the wrong label as in weight so i had to cancel the transaction refund the buyer and relist with the correct postage using custom delivery. The buyer was understanding and re-purchased but this is just the beginning of a flawed system
02-04-2025 12:05 PM
No, I agree with you.
Like GSP, Ebay could offer SD as an option as it may help some sellers but absolutely NOT make it mandatory as it doesn’t work/suit everyone.
Also, at the very least offer the same size/weight bands that can be purchased online or over the counter and DO NOT inflate those prices as that will just cost the buyer more.
I really don’t know what on earth they were thinking by forcing this on sellers. Absolute disaster.

From the Simple Delivery terms and conditions:
"12. Liability for Loss or Damage.
You remain responsible for any loss or damage to your item until it has been scanned into the carrier’s network. Once your item has been scanned into the carrier’s network and providing you used the Simple Delivery label and are compliant with these Terms and eBay’s Policies, as well as the relevant Carrier Terms, your item will be covered for loss or damage during transit up to the sold item value on the eBay.co.uk site. This means you will retain your sales proceeds in relation to the item sent using the Simple Delivery label. The item will be in transit from the point it has been scanned into the carrier’s network until it has been marked as delivered by the carrier. "
So eBay do assume all liability for items lost or damaged in transit. That is, with the caveats I mentioned.

As a business seller I haven't had "Simple Delivery" forced on me so I remain liable for the item until it comes into the physical possession of the buyer. The crazy thing is as a business I would actually welcome "Simple Delivery" for eligible items with open arms but eBay are very unlikely to ever make it available to business sellers.

Yet!
I think it might be on the cards along with streamlining the account types from 2 to 1. The Business Seller newsletter has already changed to Seller newsletter. I might be jumping to conclusions here, but this is eBay after all so I wouldn’t put anything past them!
i plan on asking the question later in chat.

Trouble is when they remove custom drlivery, I intend to cancel any purchse that they send me the wrong lable for, however I would then have to contact the buyer and explain and then package the item, relist with the weight and size and hope the buyer buys again. This is because I do not package an item until it has been sold so have no idea of the size and weight when I list.
People don't go around packing items and have piles of boxes all over the place like in my case for items which can take years to sell.

I was paying £2.69 via Packlink, using Yodel, for parcels up to 1kg. Now I am being forced to use Evri at £2.94. Can someone from eBay explain to me how I am saving money here?

The only way their savings statement can work is if they are comparing within their own 3 tariff rates.

Ebay *can't* force this on business sellers......surely!
I can't see e.g. World of Books or Music Magpie doing what they're told, post-wise : they'll already have ace delivery contracts with one courier or another.
And if ebay force this, WoB and MMagie are so well known they can just leave and ebay will lose huge fee-paying customers.

Yes Dave has just confirmed same (well “as far as he’s aware”) on today’s chat.
But let’s be honest, plenty of sellers already leaving because of SD and most of them are buyers too so wouldn’t put it past eBay to force more control on us?
02-04-2025 2:39 PM
Don't be surprised about business sellers. A business seller uploaded a video on YouTube where ebay had without permission uploaded simple delivery onto a listing of his. Infact because he has over 1000 listings he can't physically check them all and ebay can't tell hiim how many have been changed. Anyway a buyer purchased an item off him and he printed off the label to find it was the wrong weight and size so like me last week although i am a private seller he had to cancel the transaction and refund the buyer
