Someone found the dates yesterday and posted them. Just thought it made sense to make it easier to find.
It's in the Help Section under Opt out
Simple Delivery will be the only listing option as of 15th April and they will start adjusting current listings from the 7th April.
So at least we know where the Iceberg is now.

and they will get the same reaction from people if they do that!

they can switch and i will cancel any sale that they have changed. Lets face it who cares about their stats when they are leaving anyway? Come the 15th that will be it for me. Will have to make an effort and recheck if there is another site i will go to, not keen on any of them so far.

we have a nice sunday one near Filey, of course you do not get much for anything! I enjoy doing it though.

Yep, just had the email... that's me gone. Unless I can still list a few collection only bits.

We have not done one for ages but saying that if one has the right items then people around here will pay a fair price. I do hope that is still the case. At our local ones (and there are lots of them) a lot do sell for 50p a time.....we do not and have always took a decent amount 🙂 We would sell similar quality items to those we list and sell on Ebay.

another thing to consider is withdrawing any money as it goes in. I quite often leave it until i get a few items but now i will be withdrawing as soon as it appears.

Just received an email from eBay.
Looks like they cp'd the relevant part from the help section about Simple Delivery.
31-03-2025 10:25 AM
Yes i have just got one as well. Did you notice that they say if you want to respond/ask for help to reply at the bottom. Guess what, i replied...... Maybe everyone should do that as they mention it, not that it will make a bit of difference. It is near the very bottom of all the garbage...

"There’ll be a few exceptions, such as low-priced, bulky items, and local pick-up, which aren’t eligible for Simple Delivery."
How low? How bulky? Does anyone know where to find the definative list of postage companies and prices available?
31-03-2025 10:31 AM
I didn't see that part, got bored when I realised it was basically the same as what I'd already seen.
Well I already took my test listing off. I left it up so I could see when /if they changed things. Took screenshots of loads of my watchlist and certain specific listings too.
Don't really need them now as we have a date.
I'll leave my account for purchases but won't be selling on here again.
Congratulations to eBay, you've actually managed to get me to open a Facebook account. I've actually gone to the group I despise above all others to get away from you.
Well done!

I honestly think that Ebay now expect genuine private sellers to act like professional business sellers .....for whom Ebay is their only income 😞 They are not taking into account that private sellers are different and cannot be on Ebay 24.7 also they do not need to be and often posting etc has to be done at their own convenience to fit in with their lifestyle.
For us we cannot be dictated to when we post and where we post and by what method. That will never ever work for us 😞

Got the email too this morning on my private account. I am fundamentally a business seller on here but like most business sellers operate a private account too for clearing out the family’s clutter (sorry, high class bargains 😉).
I am vehemently against most of the things eBay have done recently but this takes the biscuit. We have asked about this on weekly chat and the mods have skirted away from answering the questions honestly; namely ‘will this be mandatory or can we opt out?’
Well it appears it’s mandatory now and I wouldn’t be surprised if they push it onto business accounts soon too.
EBay, if you read this thread you need to know you are destroying the site.
PLs, manipulation of search have driven many away already. The recent buyer tax added to private sales got rid of many more. Your failure to deal with illegal trading by businesses operating on private accounts has cost you revenue from properly registered businesses who cannot compete so are now leaving to sell elsewhere and this SD nonsense really is the final straw.
Offer it as an option yes, some will find it helpful. To enforce it though is wrong on so many levels. It drives up costs unnecessarily for buyers and takes away too much control for sellers. Any revenue gained by this initiative will be more than offset by people closing their accounts which sadly will include me if this policy isn’t reversed.

well in all honesty it could work for me but being a grumpy old pensioner i do not want it to! I like using my local post office and RM and doing my own thing. If e bay wish to dictate then i will not comply.
31-03-2025 10:46 AM
I am only at home at the minute and on the boards due to waiting for an extortionately priced emergency plumber........
31-03-2025 10:49 AM
Thats another issue....no doubt friendly local Post Offices may be put out of business. We always pay over the counter but i have read on the boards about some not accepting pre paid labels because they make no money out of them 😞

I accept that SD is mandatory, even though I don't like the fact.
Can I only have Royal Mail selected for its usage though? Evri are an appalling company which I do not want to use. Currently, I can't find a way of making SD Royal Mail only...
Also, what about packaging costs? The books I sell are from my collection that I'm running down and I protect them heavily to avoid damage (so the item rightly gets to the buyer in the condition described). Simple Deliver doesn't seem to take that into account.

I've been holding off on selling anything for the last month or so to see how all the new changes were panning out. This latest imposition of so-called Simple Delivery will be the end of my selling for a long time. When I joined, ebay was simple and fun, but over the last twenty years, I can't think of one new feature that has actually improved my eBay experience. Now with so many new changes in such a short time, I just can't be bothered with it at the moment. Oh, and the knock-on effect of my withdrawal from selling is I've also not bought anything on eBay for over a month either.
31-03-2025 10:51 AM
This is absolute madness from ebay, it will just drive private sellers away. Perhaps that's what they want. Once it becomes mandatory I won't be making any more new listings and will look at other options elsewhere.

I think it's close to what you say.
I think eBay are trying to PRETEND that they are closing the gap to Amazon.
Why 2-3 day delivery is dotted everywhere on the site now.
But because they aren't actually sending it, they get to turn round and blame the sellers when it doesn't happen that way.
It's all bs.
eBay false selling themselves knowing they don't have to take any hits for it. They can just turn round and dump on the sellers instead.

'low priced items are excluded', how low 🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔 do we have to guess 🙄🙄🙄🙄. Come on Ebay, you need to tell us the complete story.
