Hi @daveinbirkenhead ,
I understand buyers may not be happy with this. If they leave negative feedback that was caused by a technical issue on the eBay site then you can get this appealed through your account or through customer support.
Thank you,
Kat

Others are experiencing the same issue.
Community managers have been tagged, if an answer appears I'll come back to you.

Hi @daveinbirkenhead ,
Thank you for your post.
We are aware of the issue and its currently being looked at for a fix. We don't have an exact timescale right now but its being worked on.
In the meantime you may need to refund the shipping difference to your buyer after the purchase.
Thank you,
Kat

Thanks but now I've got a furious buyer who thinks I lied when I said I will always combine postage. Will you remove any negative feedback I'll inevitably get as a result of this.

Why don't you copy and paste the answer from Kat send this via a message to the buyer explaining an eBay Community Manager has confirmed there is a current issue sellers are experiencing when issuing an invoice with combined postage.

Still can't do it. And 'simple' delivery will remove the option all together. So if I sell more than 1 item to the same seller they have to pay for postage multiple times

Hello Kat@ebay,
I'd like to pull you up on what your saying.
This issue has been like it since BPF was introduced, so for 3 months now and counting.
Surely a company running a website that has customers would have a tech team who knows what there doing.
This clearly isn't the case, so the conclusion Private sellers and buyers have reached is that it was done by design, and there isn't any rush to fix this so called issue, judging by your next statement in your reply.
"Refund the shipping difference to your buyer after the purchase"
Absolutely no mention that buyers will have to pay the BPF for each of the multiple items they might purchase from 1 private seller. In other words Scambay rake in multiple fees, it's called GREED.
Is it any wonder that statements like yours are totally misleading and not fooling anyone who was a private seller or buyer.
Surely you've noticed all the negative feedback in this forum and on trustpilot.
Surely you've noticed all the private sellers remove their listings, and buyers have stopped buying.
Until BPF and SD has been removed, and we the customers are treated with some respect, and not dictated to, then we private sellers confirm our protest in not using this site.

I can get it appealed but there's no guarantee I can the appeal will be uphold. It's really stressful being accused of fraud because a buyer had to pay postage twice and if I'm not on my phone when their payment goes through I can't refund immediately which just makes the buyers more angry! I really don't like being made out to be a liar because ebay can't cope with combining invoices.

Should that be re-worded to "If they leave negative feedback that was caused by a technical issue (eBay`s fault) on the eBay site then you Will definitely get this negative removed through your account or through customer support."

This is totally unfair to buyers and sellers. There used to be a link in the basket to request a total from the seller so that postage could be combined, this has now disappeared. When using the app I don't think this has ever been there. I have tried going into my settings to allow combined postage but it doesn't give an easy option, just to set minimum quantity or minimum amount, this will not give an accurate price for postage to the buyer. Ebay was a good site once but seems to be going downhill fast. I offer combined postage to my buyers but look like a fool when I am unable to do so. It isn't fair to ask a buyer to pay postage on each item then refund the over payment. Please Ebay if you care about your customers PLEASE get this sorted out asap.

Has this been rectified yet, I know Marco was looking into it but have not seen any replies from him.

Hi, I have the same issue the buyer bought two items sold using simpler shipping and paid for the two separate postage charges. I used one pre-paid label to ship the items at half the cost that was paid by the buyer. They want a refund for the excess postage paid. I do not received any of the postage charges they paid and they are asking for a refund. I cannot refund them for a charge that was paid to eBay. I had assumed they would get an automatic refund as eBay would know the difference between the postage paid and the actual shipping label cost. Is this something they need to take up with eBay directly?

I have a buyer from the Netherlands who has won 11 auctions , I have contacted CS as I have not been able to send a combined invoice to allow them to pay for them so can dispatch them . I have been told it is happening to sellers who are not signed up for GSP which I refuse to use . I fail to understand how Simply Delivery has caused this problem . I fail to understand how this has been aloud to happen , my guess is the buyer will get fed up waiting and will request a cancellation. Does anybody if there a way to get round this as Ebay does seem in any hurry to solve the problem that is if they are even trying .

Hello Mark,
If only one of the postage labels was used (and the buyer bought them both) ebay should refund the un-used label to the buyer.
But it will probably take about 30 days.... (as far as I am aware, this happens automatically. I don't think they need to get in touch with C.S.)
Do tell the buyer *you* have not recieved any postage money for this sale, as that's not how Simple Delivery works. And tell them they will (eventually) get a refund from ebay.
If they don't like /won't accept what you're telling them, try telling them to come on to these forums, go to the 'buyer's board' and ask! 😁

That is ok for uk sales but that does nor solve my problem with not being send a international invoice . How did Ebay allow this happen to , most companies would revert back to something which was tried and tested until they could solve all the problems not just expect users to continue to use it. When i speak to CS all I get is there is a ticket for the problem and we will contact you when it has been solved .

For small amounts I don't like to bother the seller by messaging and just check-out, as I don't mind taking the (small) hit should it happen, but so far sellers on their own initiative have done a part-refund to deal with the combined postage once they've (packed? and) calculated it. Any exchanged messages don't have to be long, just 4 or 5 words can cover it; I suspect one or two sellers, due to their speed after I pay, have Copy&Pasted a standard message.
When the postage uncombined is high and the seller's listings say "I combine postage", I'll click "add a message for seller" at check-out, say I know you can't issue invoices any more so if it turns out you can combine postage please would you refund me any saving, much appreciated, thanks. (I allow for the fact that a seller might already have an item packed and can't combine postage, at least not without huge inconvenience.) Then I check-out. So far no seller has combined postage and not part-refunded me. I pay & message at the same time (i.e. both at check-out) as I think a seller would rather have an order in progress, with the money paid, than have time pass while we do messaging ping-pong.
If a seller's listings say "I combine postage, please contact me before you check-out..." then of course I contact them before checking-out.
