In one particular thread about 'Simple Delivery' which I've been active in over the past few days, the suggestion has been made that someone - ie., me, an eBay member of 25 years - should start a petition.
With seemingly thousands of posts in numerous threads from members extremely displeased with both SD and the closely-associated BPF - which effectively replaced the 'Sellers Fee' that we all used to pay - perhaps it may be an idea to consolidate the strength of feeling in one place?
So, here it is - the closest we can likely get to an actual petition on this board - and please, keep it simple.
If you object to the mandatory implementation of 'Simple Delivery' and would like it either scrapped altogether, or made optional so those who wish to can use it - please simply post:
Scrap SD
or
Make SD Optional
And as the 'Buyer Protection Fee' is having negative impacts on us as sellers (and buyers, which many of us are too), and would like eBay to revert to the old 'Seller Fees' system (none of us can reasonably expect this platform to be run for free) then please simply post:
BPF - Revert to Seller Fees
Unless you only wish to register an opinion on one or the other, I don't see any reason why both SD and BPF cannot be included in single posts.
Maybe, if enough of us make our voices heard in one place, so the powers-that-be can see clearly, they might - just might - listen. Over to you.

I totally agree .I have enjoyed selling on eBay for 5+ years and buying for many more but Sadly I think my selling days are over due to the new changes (SD) I am too old to deal with the SD and don't have a printer . I have always used Royal Mail with no problems at all. I would like to add I barely sold anything once the BPF was introduced.

It's horrific to be forced to use it- I was trying to edit something on a listing and it automatically set the shipping to be SD. without me noticing and Evri (a company I consider to be the worst of the lot) was automatically changed without me knowing it.
I don't like how there's no choice to ship as you want- one person may want something to be sent by DHL and another by RM Special Delivery. It's especially concerning as I relied on RM Special Delivery for especially delicate or expensive items as it's fast/safer.

This is an advertising site! They don't own the item but sure like to poke their nose in other folks affairs!
The fees I just adapted to by including them in the price of the item and offer free postage (which we all know isn't free🙄). It's a hassle and time consuming,
but
Forcing folks to use Simple Delivery is just interfering too much.
So if a private seller wants to use Simple Delivery then let them. But if Private Sellers don't then let them have a THE CHOICE. Cos it's their life, their item and their responsibility to get it safely to THEIR BUYER the way that is most convenient for them! Not everyone uses a fancy phone, have access to a printer, etc., can get to different drop off places.

Scrap BPF and SD and revert to simple straight forward Sellers Fee. But will eBay listen!

SD meh.
But BPF is awful as countless others have said,
When some one messages saying will you take X amount.
Nobody knows if that's with fees or without fees.
Its a bloody mess.
And I'm pretty sure its driving people away from ebay.

Have eBay changed the "Make Offer" option recently. I just received and offer of £23.34 for an item which looks like it was a £20 offer from the buyer PLUS the BPF? Previously the BPF was getting taken OFF the buyers offer?
Anyone?

I just don't understand why there are so few posts here - the one place where eBay might actually listen.
There are literally thousnads of posts regarding this elsewhere - it appears that the majority of people just want to complain but not actually do anything positive about it.

Why do you think ebay will pay any more attention to this thread than they do to any other?

I did say 'might' listen. Hope springs eternal?

I signed this petition but my guess is they will only pay attention when the sales metrics they will be well practiced in monitoring show a problem. I guess this forum is some kind of free focus group for them to understand why such changes may be happening.
Outside this forum I am surprised at how much casual hate for ebay that I am seeing from other experienced ebayers in the private messages about specific buy and sell transactions I am involved in.
It's hard to quantify the cost of being generally hated but surely that's going to eventually feed through into some metric they care about?
I am certainly buying a lot less here. My online purchase for today was at V again. The item that arrived today was from V. Ebay are getting a reduced share of my wallet just because the listings are less attractive now and they have repelled me enough to signup elsewhere to open up my choices.
