A 'Petition'

In one particular thread about 'Simple Delivery' which I've been active in over the past few days, the suggestion has been made that someone - ie., me, an eBay member of 25 years - should start a petition.

With seemingly thousands of posts in numerous threads from members extremely displeased with both SD and the closely-associated BPF - which effectively replaced the 'Sellers Fee' that we all used to pay - perhaps it may be an idea to consolidate the strength of feeling in one place?

So, here it is - the closest we can likely get to an actual petition on this board - and please, keep it simple.

If you object to the mandatory implementation of 'Simple Delivery' and would like it either scrapped altogether, or made optional so those who wish to can use it - please simply post:

Scrap SD

or

Make SD Optional

And as the 'Buyer Protection Fee' is having negative impacts on us as sellers (and buyers, which many of us are too), and would like eBay to revert to the old 'Seller Fees' system (none of us can reasonably expect this platform to be run for free) then please simply post:

BPF - Revert to Seller Fees

Unless you only wish to register an opinion on one or the other, I don't see any reason why both SD and BPF cannot be included in single posts.

Maybe, if enough of us make our voices heard in one place, so the powers-that-be can see clearly, they might - just might - listen. Over to you.

I don't use it as a correctly registered business, but even business sellers don't like sd or bpf.

So my vote SD optional

BPF scrap it go back to seller fee, Bit less for all instead of the random 80% off.

Live long and prosper

I check it out every few hours to see how many more have "signed", so I must made the total of views go up by hundreds! So views mean nothing.

I have been buying and selling on ebay for over 20 years and mostly enjoyed the experience, I have stopped  selling and am now not browsing to buy at all now because of these new changes - SD looks too complicated and anything but simple to me, I have no wish to be told how to pack up and send my sales, I liked how I have been doing it for years and to make SD mandatory is appalling.  Ebay do not seem to understand what works for one does not work for everyone, they have to take into account different lifestyles of the private sellers alot of us are oldies decluttering our many past purchases.  Because I am no longer selling I will not be buying anything much here and am certainly no longer browsing to see what to add to my collections.  They have spoilt it for me, so its the end of the line on here for me.  I was reading in the latest Sunday Times magazine about how Vinted started and progressed and how it works, never used it so hadn't a clue about it - but I note that Ebay are basically just copying exactly what Vinted have done, and I can't see them doing a U turn any time soon.

Here for the record;

BPF was and is ridiculous and should be scrapped, I was ok paying sellers fees.

SD should not be mandatory

I concur wholeheartedly with all that was written by bythesea999 I think that actually ebay have shown their true colours in that they really don't like private sellers. I, also am 'de-cluttering' various collections amassed over many years but I no longer think ebay is the place to do this although I am keeping a few items listed for now but it does look like the end of selling/buying on this platform is on the horizon for true private sellers/buyers, its a shame but all things must pass.

Stop SD.

It is NOT simple and makes something that was simple very complicated. Everybody can post items and was never a problem. Now it is.

Not sure how this is going to change anything.  It is Ebay's platform and they make the rules.

The good times are gone.

It's tough - but move on...

All the recent changes are just making this place Dismal.

Perhaps they just want us to go away.
