In one particular thread about 'Simple Delivery' which I've been active in over the past few days, the suggestion has been made that someone - ie., me, an eBay member of 25 years - should start a petition.
With seemingly thousands of posts in numerous threads from members extremely displeased with both SD and the closely-associated BPF - which effectively replaced the 'Sellers Fee' that we all used to pay - perhaps it may be an idea to consolidate the strength of feeling in one place?
So, here it is - the closest we can likely get to an actual petition on this board - and please, keep it simple.
If you object to the mandatory implementation of 'Simple Delivery' and would like it either scrapped altogether, or made optional so those who wish to can use it - please simply post:
Scrap SD
or
Make SD Optional
And as the 'Buyer Protection Fee' is having negative impacts on us as sellers (and buyers, which many of us are too), and would like eBay to revert to the old 'Seller Fees' system (none of us can reasonably expect this platform to be run for free) then please simply post:
BPF - Revert to Seller Fees
Unless you only wish to register an opinion on one or the other, I don't see any reason why both SD and BPF cannot be included in single posts.
Maybe, if enough of us make our voices heard in one place, so the powers-that-be can see clearly, they might - just might - listen. Over to you.

This ‘Simple’ Delivery issue has been the tipping point, the one step too far, for me - I have taken down my listings and am currently not purchasing anything on ebay.
I Simply wish to choose where, what and how I arrange delivery, to suit my lifestyle, my location and my circumstances.
BPF - Revert to Seller Fees
I would certainly be happier with this

Simple Delivery has been the tipping point for me too.
I currently have my 'Time Away' on, but that's purely because I can't yet bear to take down my listings.

SD and BPF are ruining ebay for buying as well as selling and it's clear practically everyone hates them. Who seriously would put up with being dictated to about how they could send a parcel to someone? It is the seller who should choose how, where, when and by who it goes based on their individual needs and circumstances. I have never ever in 18 years of buying and selling heard anybody say "organising the postage is a pain, I wish ebay would do it for me!" It's not liked, it's not helpful, it's not wanted and it's not needed full stop.

It may be worth noting that as of this moment some 6132 people have viewed this thread.......however only 174 have actually responded with an opinion! I think this tells you all you need to know about the commitment of sellers, and the total lack of any concern from eBay.

It may also be worth noting that "6132 views" does not mean "6132 different people have viewed this topic"
It means "this topic has been viewed 6132 times."
I've viewed it at least a dozen times, because it shows up with new posts every time I visit the boards. That counts as 12 views.
Don't judge the "commitment of sellers" based on your misunderstanding of how things work, please.
