Unable to collect item from collection point as havent recieved SMS/Email containing Barcode

Two of my parcels have been marked as delivered to the collection point. I went there to collect and they said I needed the barcode sent to me (but i havent been sent a barcode). They wouldnt accept my ID and said i needed the barcode etc (which i dont have?). How do i get this barcode ?. Ive called ebay and they couldnt help, royal mail queue was too long to wait on the phone. If i dont collect in the next few days the parcel will be sent back.

There is a 7 minute plus wait at the moment for CS,  I suggest you contact Customer Services first thing tomorrow morning , at 8 a.m.  lines then open for live agents, and there's more chance then,  of Dublin answering.

 

This is the easiest and quickest way to contact eBay Customer Services, for a Call Back option.

Automated agents will be available on chat outside of the above hours.


As said,  I recommend contacting CS first thing in the morning as there's more chance of Dublin answering.

Ok I'll try again in the morning. CS tonight directed me to royal mail CS but this won't resolve my issue I don't think. Seems to be an issue for other people too but I can't seem to find a solution.

Did you sort it? If not, first step is to determine what type of click and collect it is. On each item's order page, on the address to be sent to, is there something which says ECP: then an 8 character code?

This is not eBay issue, this is either the seller not including the reference code on the parcel or the pick up shop not scanning in the parcels correctly. We have had this issue a few times, and it is because when the order is processed, eBay assigns a code that appears as part of the delivery address - this then has to be input onto the system by your selected pick up shop - if they did not do this, or they didn't do it properly, you never receive the code to collect.

 

The seller cannot generate this code and neither will eBay. What you need to do is go to the pick up shop, explain that your parcels are delivered (show them proof of delivery and the image if you have those) and that they need to manually go check the shelves for your name. They then need to scan the parcel into their system properly - this should trigger the eBay automated code to be generated and emailed to you. You should generally be ok to wait in the shop once they process the parcel properly. 

 

We have had to call the pick up shops on some occasions because the buyers wouldn't visit in person and speak to anyone at the counter and talk them through this. Usually once they actually process the parcel this solves the issue.
