Firstly my apologies if there is already a thread on this topic (I’m surprised that there doesn’t appear to be any given that I am assuming this issue is widespread).
I have just been to a parcel shop to drop off two parcels however upon scanning the first QR code received an error message on the screen to advise that the code was invalid, possibly because the label has already been used.
upon checking my emails I received an email from eBay at 1550 this afternoon which said
”
We’re writing to let you know that we are currently experiencing a technical issue affecting Simple Delivery Evri Ship-to-Store labels.
You’re receiving this email because you recently generated one of these labels.
Firstly I am not sure what they mean by ship to store labels, as the item is being delivered to someone’s house, But nonetheless, I have checked and yes, it is not working.
Secondly I’m wondering is there any resolution to this in sight as I’m soon going on holiday? Therefore if the issue is not fixed by Thursday I will be unable to dispatch the item for two weeks.
And finally why our buyers not being advised by eBay officially that there is an issue with labels. I have taken it upon myself to message the two buyers but both of them have replied seemingly highly suspicious of my intentions given that there is no evidence of this system outage on the eBay website nor on any news website

I also received one of these messages, for a parcel which I dropped off early on Monday 20 October.
However, the Tracking confirms that the item was safely delivered to its destination (a Londis Store in Warwick) around midday Wednesday 22 October.
I am now confused about whether the item was duly delivered / collected, or whether it will now be returned ??

Hi I'm in the same boat. Also received the eBay Email. I have now received 2 items returned by Evri that were posted out by me on Monday just gone. They have been returned to mt home address.
Have spoken to eBay and there solution was
1) I could refund the buyer
2) I could ask buyer if they still wanted the item and if they do I could ask them to pay for post again! Or.......I could pay the post using DHL or Royal Mail!
I told them buyers have already paid post and now you want them to pay a second time or I should pay!
Seriously annoyed!

EBay customer support are telling me neither the seller or buyer will be refunded postage as it's the seller's fault for posting the parcels with faulty labels despite how we had absolutely no way to know, with their email coming after we posted the items. Absolutely unacceptable from eBay and questionable legality.

Now mine has changed again!!!
The sender's asked us to return your parcel. Please contact the sender if you need help.
NO the sender did not ask to return the parcel!!!!

My parcel was returned to me. I generated a new label and shipped it

You do not have to pay to reship. I didn't pay to reship

So are they safe to send now? Not had any follow up from ebay on this.
24-10-2025 8:04 AM
Lucky you!
I was told I had to reship and either ask buyer to pay or pay myself. They also suggested I use another courier apart from Evri! This was yesterday evening so I'm not sure the issue has been sorted yet.

I'll have to give them a call this morning then, had another evri ship to shop order so can't be sitting on them. One package is due back here today too so will need to sort that also.

If anyone is getting conflicting advice from Ebay Customer Services then you could try using social media (e.g. Facebook) to send them a direct message and let them know. I did this a couple of days ago and had a very fast response, which I described earlier in this thread.
Make sure you go to the Ebay UK page, though i.e. https://www.facebook.com/eBay.co.uk If you haven't sent direct messages before then you just need to click on the "Message" button and a small window will pop up in which you can describe your problem.
A lot of the phone/chat Ebay CS people seem to be US-based and they probably haven't been briefed properly on the Evri issue in the UK, so that may explain the conflicting advice.

Just spoken to eBay via chat, the issue's not been resolved, they reckon another 24 hours.

I've just checked Evri tracking and although I sent my parcel through a local parcelshop, according to Evri it is being returned to my home address. Watch this space!
24-10-2025 10:21 AM
My tracking now says delivered. With a photo of my parcel at the store and the buyers area on the map.
I have now contacted my buyer to see if they have been informed.
24-10-2025 1:40 PM
What did it say before that? Sender asked to return the package?
24-10-2025 3:31 PM
24-10-2025 3:38 PM
My buyer has replied with ..........
Hi, yes I've had confirmation..It's been delivered to my post office, I've just got to collect it..No problem..Thanks for letting me know.
BUT I have just received this from eBay .......

| Dear bluebellfressia, | |
Due to a technical issue, we had to return the following orders to you: Our tracking data shows that these orders have been successfully returned to you. Please resend them to the buyer at your earliest convenience using newly generated shipping labels.
When I have not received it and have confirmation and a photo of it being dropped of at the buyers store.
What a mess! |
