Just to say that I only used once, so far so good.
However, some items I sell are more than £200, and I don't I feel comfortable using just Royal Mail 24 or 28.
After double checking with eBay's CS, I was told that:
*Royal Mail Special Delivery isn't provided.
*if a parcel is lost or damaged, the courier will cover it all if via Simply Delivery.
It sounds too good to be truth, coz in that case, I don't need to use Special Delivery and there's no need to worry for some worse case scenarios. However, I still have doubts because I asked 2 CS persons to send me the link of T&C. They promised and yet didn't. I found it a bit tricky, because even RM Special Delivery only covers £2000 or £2500 at maxium. Some luxury items, say a Rolex or Hermes would pass the limit easily.
Does anyone know where I can find this T&C?
Thanks.

Just tried this with a draft I created earlier on that was using (not) simple delivery and it worked, it not only brought up special delivery but also brought back royal mails tracked 24 and 48 with a parcel size option of small 45x35x16.

Any new listings done now will begin to change to simple delivery from 7th so it's pointless bothering i stopped weeks ago just put a few relists on for a day or too. It's over they will promise to open tickets, sort things within 90 days, refuse to close our accounts or close them for no reason and keep our money. Lies over and over, excuses, copy and pasted stuff. I've noticed one very active mentor missing today. Their staff are planted here. Read Reddit and Trustpilot. As a trusted seller i can never ever sell here again on my principles unless things change back and they will not because these people will never admit that they are wrong

I’m hoping there will be ways to get into custom postage pages after the changeover on the 7th onwards
im sure there will be
all postage on listings will be changed to ebays new post system on 7th
i guess people will need to check all their listings to see what they’ve done to them

I managed to get a call back earlier re a query on this assinine simple delivery rubbish. You can toggle off the Evri option in your settings so items will only be sent Royal Mail my nearest Evri is 10 miles away. If the item you are selling is over the simple delivery threshold then you are responsible for posting as you normally would. So items for over £500 the simple delivery wouldnt be applied. Apparently ebay automatically knows when an item sells if its over threshold or not. Its just a pain in the bum.

eBay are clearly saying that the eligibility is down to the individual courier and has therefore provided links, as indeed have I, to the relevant pages - it's up to the user of those services to read it for themselves.
The lists of ineligible items has not changed significantly is several years for either RM or Evri.
Here, again, is the direct link to the information you require regarding RM eligibility i.e. if the item appears on their prohibited list IT IS INELIGIBLE!
https://www.postoffice.co.uk/dam6/jcr:77b3aff1-90ac-4cff-9096-9a7d86ce8d90/RM-Prohibited-Items.pdf
In the simplest of terms... if your item appears on the prohibited list and it should not arrive or be damaged while in RM's hands, you would NOT be compensated.
And I strongly advise you to read the information regarding packaging and labelling... failure to comply with RM's directions/advice could also be grounds for a refusal of compensation.

I've not listed an item since this latest ORDER came through, but i've just drafted a selling item, and you can still custom select your own postal method. I would not trust ebays advice one bit, they are turning out to be liars and thieves when it comes to these new policies. For example, the International Shipping programme, is a complete rip off. They use third party pickups, who literally put it in a bigger package, drive it to the recognised couriers, and charge you extra and above , what that courier would charge.! Not long ago, i bought two blank car keys for my 64 Thunderbird. They cost less than $5,,,the postage was more than 3 times that, and all they did was put the original sellers envelope, inside a mucg bigger/completely unnecessary envelope, and posted it! No special paperwork/declaration,,,nothing!

Items up to £750 are now eligible for Simple Delivery. £500 was for the original pilot version in the clothing category.

Yes Global Shipping Programme $14 for a letter !! this has stopped me buying from overseas for years and now Simple Delivery will do the same for the UK market

Exactly...I called them and they were extremely WOOLLY in their reply
One thing for sure EBAY is NOT going to auto-compensate the way they make it sound when parcels lost/damaged
It will STILL be seller responsibility, so EVERYONE enjoy that one!!!!!!
I will be seriously scaling back my listings after April 15.. want to use UPS who I've been using for 10 years and love
Royal Mail are getting worse and terrible to deal with in with any problems (remember HORIZON!!!!!!!!!!!!!)
04-04-2025 9:24 PM
NO WAY are couriers going to compensate for losses, don't believe it

Global shipping insurance works fine.
Yes, some buyers definitely break things...rather than being honest and finding another solution (it's pathetic)
Yes, I am sure RM/EVRI will dispute packaging on nearly all claims under SIMPLE delivery

You'd think!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
What are EBAY looking at that everyone else isn't!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Nobody is going to risk losing hundreds ££££

This thread started about ebay compensation and has gone on to the problems people have had with Royal mail claims.
Just for the record. I have pretty much exclusively used Royal Mail small packet tracked 48 for the last few years. This is the package size that ebay is not including in their simple delivery at present.
My parcels mostly arrive on time or early, the very few that have been lost or stolen (probably 4 out of many hundreds) have all be paid back by Royal Mail through their online claims procedure within the stated time and with no problems at all. Obviously I must have been lucky but basically I have had no problems with Royal Mail at all.
Now the issue surely is whether Ebay will send appropriate compensation once the 'simple delivery' postage is compulsory.
And whether they will include the small packet size in their options!!!

Didn’t know where to post this hope it’s ok here
Fragile items can be included within the Simple Delivery service: When you follow our packaging guidelines you benefit from the protection for damage in transit offered by Simple Delivery.
Fragile items CAN be sent using SD
Does this mean they can also be sent custom postage.
And if they’re sent with SD are they also compensated for loss if on evris non compensation list? As only damage in transit is mentioned , and on that front seems if you package well you’re covered
