Simple Delivery collections

Simple delivery is a disaster for me and very unclear in the messaging on the App. Booked a collection the text says "Book courier collection for free - no printer required." In the box for collection...I just waited 35 minutes to "speak to an agent 2 minutes". No response. I've just looked at the RM details...they say a label isn't included ...so which is correct? Simple delivery makes it really difficult to see the dimensions the postage covers after the sale. This is a really unhelpful change to Ebay ...please bring back custom postage.

My mother tried the new delivery service, two days ago, postie did not arrive. I printed label and took to post office today.

today I have made a sale and was thinking of trying it to see if maybe she'd missed a step out somewhere but as I will be near a post office tomorrow I'll take it with me on the bus!

But it didn't work earlier this week for my mother... collection appeared to be booked but no postie...

Full sympathy. I sold one on Friday booked collection and when I altered it it offered bring my label for free. Items sold Saturday,  Sunday this weekend..booked RM collection and the Ebay site says "print at home"...so I think it is free collection but without a printed label 🤷‍♀️ My HP printer doesn't identify as a printer and generally has imaginary blockages ..its a faff..Ive started trying to print the labels with @10p cost using the free Ebay collection so in effect saving 20p.

The Ebay wording was ? is horribly misleading

I'm finding this collection via ebay confusing....I just sold a thing for not much and thought I'd order collection through ebay assuming I'd save the 30 pence at least, did it, asked for postie to bring a label etc, submitted, page disappeared and then nothing, no acknowledgement or anything, no tracking number or anything to indicate it would be collected.  Tried again and was asked to pay 30 pence so tried a different way, no luck.  then tried to print a label to book and pay and it wont allow this.  FGS what the heck !!!  I stand to make about £4 and cant be doing with all this time wasting nonsense for such a small amount.  I could wait until monday and hope it gets collected but just have a feeling it wont so now will have to contact ebay to sort it out for me.  E gods this used to be easy and fun......

I've had weirdness where it says "buy prepaid label" or similar ..you do, clicking book collection and then nothing. I've been luckier than you though and second time it did it,  It's 2 screens. For a while it was free collections AND a free label. For me, on my sales,  it's now free collections PRINT YOUR OWN LABEL...which is a faff. As my printer occasionally identifies as a brick 🤦‍♀️ we muddle on...I'm so happy when its an old listing so SD doesn't apply 🤭🤣🫶

Well done...on this occasion I chose 'book collection' before printing a label where normally I'd do that the other way around...then it took me to a screen where it simply said (or implied, cant remember) that it was booked but I wasn't given an option to choose which day, as normally occurs,  though that doesn't really matter because of course you can always edit the day if you choose later on.  But I never got an acknowledgement atall which got me wondering if RM actually got the memo.  Oh and it informed me that the postie would bring a label which I hadn't requested.  I have now printed the label off but am waiting until Monday to see if it does get collected.  If not I will have to just reorganise collection I spose and pay my 30 pence.  All this for a few squid....Said it afore and I shall say it again...simple delivery is a misnomer, should be 'how to waste a few hours of your time' or extremely complicated and non funcional delivery'.  Best though keep a soh and plough onward , if not upward. 🤣

When it wasn't simple delivery it was 30p. Simple delivery free collection and postie brings a label has now worked 2 or 3 times from this household! Postie said most people have put a label on already.

I've had a sale in the last hour - I book collection which is free but no label ...I am sent the label to print and the postie arrives without the labels in his hand for about the last week when booked via Ebay 🤷‍♀️ at the beginning of the change I agree the label was included...I'll update tomorrow but collections last week the postie had no labels just his handheld scanner.

I asked my postie today 2 collections booked through Simply Delivery Royal Mail collection...no labels brought along by postie (I checked) and the instructions in the sale confirmation say 1. Wrap 2. Print label etc...so it is free collection but not free label which must be printed by the seller. Luckily I was aware and had put labels on my parcels so they went on their way 🥰

So has it changed since last week I wonder? Except for the last sale, I had printed the labels and stuck them down - hence the postie saying that was what most people did...whilst he was holding a label to stick on the parcel...

I had this same issue.  Booked collection with bring my label last week as I always have done. Did one Fri for collection on Sat and postie turned up with no label saying it hadn't been requested. 

I had to cancel the sale as don't have a printer. 

I contacted Ebay and they said there's an issue generating the label from simple delivery to royal mail. They couldn't tell me when it would be fixed. I wonder if something has happened in the latest update. All my listing still say book collection with no printer required. I'm afraid to select it now incase it creates the print label. Ebay did say if it generates a print label they can send a qr code so it can be dropped off. Very frustrating

I (thought) I had booked a collection for yesterday but never received a confirmation so printed a label using the link.  Postie never even turned up..long subsequent chat on ebay and e mail back up with instructions. But reading through them, other than possibly not booking collection before generating label, think I did it correctly. If I sell another item I will follow these instructions one more time, if it fails again then buyers will just have to wait until I can get to the post office, which is far from ideal.  This time I ended up booking separately (and paying of course) as I always did before and hoping it goes off today.  Person I spoke with suggested I ask the buyer to cancel and re-buy so I can get a new label. I decided to not go with that idea...were I my buyer I'd tell the seller to forget it........

On my Ebay app on my phone...it's click for collection, takes you through to the page which has the days available....blue bar to press (as if youve booked it)  it takes you to another page as if done...but I have to scroll down to find a tab saying get prepaid label and qr code and pressing that I get confirmation emails etc..the label to print. At that point I think its booked ...3 clicks through...its a faff...I was only alerted it wasnt booked like you when no emails came through.

The other day I had 2 out 4 to drop off at the Post Office where I stood at the counter and discovered QR codes hadn't been sent ...SD has LOTS of bugs/ problems.

It may look different on a phone but I think possibly I messed up because I didn't go back to My Orders and commence booking the collection from there...although the notification of sale I got from ebay did have a live link in it that I clicked on and from thence the confusion began.  What a game.
