Simple Delivery - Item delivery with my own label - problems?

Good people of eBay, I've sold an item with simple delivery. The label is RM but the parcel size is over the limits of the courier. They say they take responsibility as the item's description clearly states the dimensions are above 46cm (I have screenshots) but I rather not take the chance.

So I generated the label to see what it was (it's RM tracked 48h) and I bought a parcelforce label with enough insurance myself entirely at my own cost. But of course I cannot add this tracking number and I cannot cancel the simple delivery label.

Question is: Does eBay *require* the generated label to be flagged as delivered? Will this mean guaranteed trouble if I let the generated label unused?

I am presuming as long as the buyer does not flag a problem, eBay won't conclude the item was not delivered because the generated label was not used?

Help? Thank you.

Re: Simple Delivery - Item delivery with my own label - problems?

You can generate the SD label to mark the item as dispatched.     Then see if you can change the tracking number at View Order Details > Postage > Track Package > dropdown arrow.   That has to be done on a desktop browser.

Afterwards if you paid for the original label you can cancel it here:
https://www.ebay.co.uk/claims/simple-delivery/refund/seller
Or if the buyer paid for it it will be refunded to them automatically in 30 days.

Even if you don't manage to do the above the payment will be released anyway in 14 days.
