Re: Royal Mail simple delivery qr codes invalid!

So happy for you! ❤️ As for me, only 1 out of 12 Saturday parcels has changed to ‘We have got it’… 😞

Re: Royal Mail simple delivery qr codes invalid!

OK, most of my packages were scanned during the night and early morning, so I assume the rest will be scanned soon. But when I click on the tracking of the scanned packages and go to the Royal Mail tracking page, then click the red ‘Track your delivery’ button – nothing happens 🙈 It’s like the page doesn’t work. I’m not sure if it’s just my rubbish tablet or if it’s the same for everyone?

Re: Royal Mail simple delivery qr codes invalid!

Hi All,

The issue with the track48 YA labels has been resolved.  The Royal Mail systems are now accepting the parcels so you should be able to send them through the Post Office. If you were unable to send your parcels and new labels were purchased the original labels can be voided.

For Simple Delivery, the buyer purchased labels will automatically be refunded to the buyer within 30-40 days. For seller paid labels a refund request can be submitted through the webform within 14 days from the order date.

For non Simple Delivery eBay labels, they can be voided within 14 days by going to postage labels on your account.

There will be automated protections in place for impacted sellers for late shipment and INR service metrics.

Thank you,

Kat

Re: Royal Mail simple delivery qr codes invalid!

Thank you Kat for the update.

I can confirm that the parcel I have taken today to my post office on 48 tracked have scanned and are in the Royal Mail system.

However, will eBay seller's have some grace if they receive negative feedback based on this issue.  There will be a back log of parcels not in the system at the post office (some Post offices kindly accepted the parcels without the ability to scan them) this issue is of course no fault of the seller, but a Royal Mail glitch. Therefore it is beyond the sellers control.

This will no doubt delay the dispatch of them, or even be rejected as they were not scanned at the Post office.

Please advise

Best wishes

Hi @lincolnshiremarine ,

Thank you for your reply.

That's understandable. For affected transactions eBay will remove any negative and neutral feedback relating to or arising from late or non-delivery.

Thank you,

Kat

Re: Royal Mail simple delivery qr codes invalid!

Hi kat@ebay

Since the late items can fairly easily be recognised (e.g. by their 'YA' tracking prefix) will this also including extending the period in which a buyer of a delayed item cannot start an 'item not received' claim?

Regardless of feedback and given the backlog and tight estimated delivery dates isn't there also the risk that a seller may be forced to initiate a refund to a buyer before the item has received its initial scan as having been dispatched? Or if the scan itself has not been successful?

Re: Royal Mail simple delivery qr codes invalid!

Have all your Saturday parcels had their tracking status updated already?

I’ve got just one left that still shows as “Label created – we’re expecting it.”

Does anyone else still have a parcel stuck like that?

Of course, I’ll wait a few more days and ask the buyer to be patient, but am I right in thinking that if the case is opened and the item still hasn’t arrived after those few days, I’ll have to resend the item at my own cost?

Because from what I understand, the only protection is that I won’t get a negative or neutral feedback?

Re: Royal Mail simple delivery qr codes invalid!

I agree. The removal of negative/neutral feedback doesn't offer much in the way of Seller Protection.

What other steps will Ebay be putting in place to allow for items that have been delayed or have gone missing in the post to protect sellers, as with when buyers open an item not received case and ask for a refund?
