I have seen the odd post from other Sellers about both EVRI and Packlink overcharging on weight. If this is a regular thing, you could do what they do... photograph the package on a scale showing weight before sending. Then you can contact their CS with evidence to ask for a refund of the overcharge.
Having done all you can, if the situation continues you could get them investigated by contacting the ombudsman. In England this is the Postal Redress Service (POSTRS), 'an independent organisation which can resolve disputes between postal operators and their customers when operators have not sorted out the complaints through their own procedures.' Good luck with your selling!

update on the two cases :
Thank you very much for helping us to manage the query for this charge.
With the evidence you have provided, we have escalated your case and obtained the nullity of the measurement/weight excess charge applied to your shipment H051JA0134247599 - GB2025EBAYCIP0010303753.
I confirm that today 22-08-2025 we proceed to make the refund.
2nd case:
Thank you for contacting Packlink.
The limits specified when purchasing the label are solely for the services available on EVRi. This means that parcels weighing up to 15kg and with a maximum overall size of 245cm can be shipped using EVRi services.
During the label purchase on eBay, the sellers must select the correct weight for their parcel by clicking on the drop-down menu shown in the screenshot below. This is a mandatory field the sender must complete. If the parcel weighs more than the declared weight, the courier will impose an extra charge for the weight discrepancy.

Please find more about our eBay Delivery UK shipping rates in our Help Center. I regret to inform you that evri confirms that their scanner is calibrated, and in the absence of evidence from you, we can't proceed with our dispute and give you a favourable resolution. We fully understand the discomfort this situation may cause you. For this reason, during the purchasing flow, Packlink makes special mention of the importance of correctly weighing and measuring the goods., LOL they must think i am mad |

I know Hermes, as they were at the time, were infamous for doing this. I used to write the weight on the parcel in the hope that it would indicate to them that I had weighed it rather than guessed the weight and wouldn't just roll over assuming I'd guessed wrong if surcharged. I never was.
Pre-Simple Delivery I always dealt with Evri, Royal Mail or whoever direct so there was no split responsibly between them and PackLink. I did use Shutl a bit back in the day as they were sometimes cheaper.

Labels are from ebay via evri - via packlink - its absolutly rubbish - its not just me they are trying it on with

Are you saying that Business Sellers have to use PackLink and can't deal direct with a carrier? I'm not one so don't know.
Private Sellers mostly have to use Simple Delivery where PackLink doesn't come into it at all.

No not at all - they have a choice - as a private seller i used the ebay labels as it was more convienint to me.
Most of my listings now are simple delivery - but previuos ones are not i had more choices etc etc

Just to let everyone know.
I raised a complaint with Customer service at eBay asking for Packlink to be investigated.
I have hasd my postage back and it has also be sent up the chain to the shipping team to make them aware of the issue with Packlink over charging on the correct postage.
