New format - issues with postage options

When listing a new item, the postage format seems to have changed. I can now no longer add a second postage option. Also if I go in and revise an item, all the postage options are removed and I have to reset them. It’s VERY frustrating. The only time I can add a second postage option is on my existing listing that were made when it was the old format. I have reported it to eBay and they said they have reported it to their IT team but that I am apparently the only person to have reported these issues. Am I alone, or has anyone else experienced this. If so, do you have a solution for me to try?

Re: New format - issues with postage options

Ebay want to remove your independence so that they own almost every aspect of your sale apart from you physically packaging / posting it. It's gone extremely downhill & no apology. Just ran by AI & bots now

Re: New format - issues with postage options

Exactly! I had 60 drafts from January & taking me 10 minutes to mess around editing every one . I gave up after 5 the website is TOO frustrating & also takes ages to load. The app used to be good. All the alleged improvements just do the opp ie create problems bugs & technical issues. Ebay don't care. That's the bottom line. They can afford to lose thousands maybe millions that are choosing more user friendly platforms

Re: New format - issues with postage options

Hi. I did try this the first time it happened, and the post office
wouldn't do that and sent me off for a new label. I did do that - I bought
an eBay label instead!

And it was a palaver to track the package as I had to do the tracking and
keep messaging the buyer.

Originally, this was a great idea and easy to use, then it seemed like
overnight it all became a nightmare.

Re: New format - issues with postage options

Hi. I am a first time seller on eBay, attracted by the no fees for private
sellers as I am decluttering my home now I'm retired. I have used Vinted
and it seems so simple in comparison to the overly complex procedure on
eBay, but I think that eBay is the best platform option for what I'm trying
to sell. It's unfortunate really, as it puts me off listing more.

surely this was tried and checked before releasing it to go live!
just not impressed with eBay at present!

Re: New format - issues with postage options

This is happening to me and is very frustrating to say the Least. I can’t actually add a new listing now because it only only one postage option however when I have finished and select to list it says error ‘secondary postage missing’ which makes me angry because there is no option to select a second postage  option

Re: New format - issues with postage options

Hi

It was so frustrating for me that I have not listed any more items for sale
as I don't feel that the process is a benefit for either buyers or
sellers. I'm looking at other selling options now. It is very
disappointing.

Re: New format - issues with postage options

Hi all.

After experiencing this issue ie only one postage option & no returns option in app when creating a new draft -   The app only reverted back to my old style postage options of 48 & 24 hour Royal Mail when I pressed sell similar .  If you're starting a new listing completely from scratch - the different postage&  return options aren't there.  You could try uninstall / reinstall & clearing cache/ cookies by going to settings- apps- Ebay- storage.  If all else fails you have no option but to use the browser site instead of the app. I have reported the technical issue  a few tijes & its always "we are aware & looking for a fix "    Hope this helps.

Re: New format - issues with postage options

There seems to have been a recent update which has made things a lot worse. It seems impossible to change from Simple Delivery (the help pages reference a screen that it is hard or impossible to find). Also the listing will tell you that y;e buyer pays but when the listing is live it says the seller will pay and it is free postage! Sort it out, eBay!

Re: New format - issues with postage options

My mum has just joined eBay recently and she set the postage that the buyer pays but all her listing are showing that she pays!

Re: simple delivery, I had an email this morning that from the 15th April it will compulsory/the only option for private sellers.

This and the not being paid immediately are two very bad changes (in my opinion).

Re: New format - issues with postage options

It seems to get harder and harder to list now eBay pushing the service they want not what you prefer . As for the new listing format horrible makes my items look more expensive , but cannot sell them any cheaper to compensate .

Re: New format - issues with postage options

No not at all, the other big issue is it does not let you select post only regardless of all the google answers coming back from ebay, it automatically puts collection in person on every item i have wasted 2 hours this evening trying to follow suggested ways of removing this, the simple delivery is dreadful, its almost as if they dont want any private sellers on...they have messed about with the charges as you know a I guess and the whiole thing is just painful...

Re: New format - issues with postage options

That’s annoying

if your original listing doesn’t have collection in person why are eBay adding it

when they change your listings to SD

Off to see if I can do a bulk edit

Re: New format - issues with postage options

No you’re not alone! What an absolute mess it is…all my items have the wrong postage cost and I can’t list them to what I’ve always used…if anything sells shortly I’m out of pocket on postage and no idea how I’m sending it🤷‍♀️

Re: New format - issues with postage options

I have just taken everything down until they sort it out. I wonder if too
many people were listing without making eBay any money, so it's a way of
reversing the free listing.

I'm not impressed. I'm selling to clear my home so not depending on the
money for income, but would love to reclaim my garage!

Re: New format - issues with postage options

EBay are doing all this to try and make everyone become Business sellers. They got a right kicking from HMRC because of all the small 'private' sellers making more than their allotted tax allowance. Remember, when you reach 30 sales in a whole year or approx £1700 in sales (whichever comes first), eBay are now under strict guidelines to tell HMRC all about you. Even selling 30 small postcards at 99p each is your maximum, then it's hello taxman. eBay don't want that headache so it's easier to get rid of all the private sellers and then hope some will become business sellers paying eBay minimum of £27.00 per month for the privilege. Remember business seller don't have all the Buy Protection nonsense putting their buyers off.

Re: New format - issues with postage options

I thought that this was at the base of it all. I also thought that a lot
of business sellers would choose to register as private sellers as the
amount of earnings that were allowed for private sellers was quite high. Ah
well, I guess my downsizing efforts will focus on filling the charity shops.

Re: New format - issues with postage options

Ebay is becoming a waste of time! Think will take my listings down and drop more stuff off to charities like I have been doing the last few weeks. Too much hassle trying to figure out postage *bleep*, it used to be so easy!
