NO LONGER ALLOWED TO POST ANYTHING OVER 61CM LONG- WHY EBAY?
just got off the phone to customer service agent-
the powers be have now removed custom posting and although evri, a designated ebay sd courier, allow a max of 120cm, ebay say no.
this will curtail many such as those selling fishing, drain rods or curtain track.
perhaps this just applies to private sellers!
be interesting to hear if business sellers get different treatment.
back to being a really unpleasant seller experience

When you get narky demanding messages like this -
"Twice i have asked for a screen shot of your posting options at listing stage with no reply, as too with device being used. PC ebay is different to smartphone."
when you have posted these 3 hours and 7 hours respectively previously for him I am sure that anyone would start to lose patience with him. Do not berate me, try directing it elsewhere.

Have you got it working now?

your sales and feedback as a seller would be evidence that your "so called workaround" works, past year is the wording, NOT this month, NOT last three months! YOUR WORKAROUND DOES NOT WORK FOR ME.

hi and thanks, message from ebay about evri and 120cm solves the issue.

the sales and feedback would be evidence the workaround works, there is nothing in his sales to support anything.

not interested in a screen shot of a posting drop menu, they can from any account. Any one on here can see my sales record, from weeks to months, 20 odd years on here. Your page shows very few and i can see none with the period this new sd came in. With that how are you in a position to say the workaround works bypassing sd unless that was all done under another account? I have nothing to hide.

Turns out ebay mis-infomed me and you can't get a refund for arranging postage outside of simple delivery when it is over sized - instead you should deselect Royal Mail so that Evri is the only choice and it will the allow up to 120cm. So ebay are insisting on using their service which the buyer did not select when other options were previously available under the old system with the same postage firm. It may work for some but it doesn't work for all.

If the buyer paid for postage, ebay says the buyer gets a refund of an unused SD label - automatically.
If the seller paid for postage, the seller can apply for a refund of an unused SD label. Some sellers have reported getting the refund, some have reported not getting the refund (within the suggested timeframe). On the latter, it may just be a backlog, it may be because ebay have rejected the refund without informing the seller, etc.

It does work as I'm using it on ALL of my listings and I have sold things.

Hi.
I went on live chat yesterday as I have 2 items that are 64cm long.
I got told that Royal Mail are aware and have been told to accept all oversized packages?
Im assuming this isn't the case?
Worried now as I have them listed...

Are you using Ricks workaround to list?
The steps are
1. Change price to £800
2. It then gives you weight box and dimensions. You need to change the weight to for example 40kg. Change the dimensions to 121, 81 and 81 which makes it oversized, too big for simple delivery.
3. Change price back to what you want it to be.
4. Then you can add a delivery method and postage price for your oversized item.
Rick advises that you may need to add your delivery method before lowering your price back down.

Thank you, that did allow me to select larger services.
Couple issues
Each time I lower the price it reverts back to medium parcel.
Its probably worth about £450 - £500. The large parcel options offer no compensation.
Is it possible to do it the old way, like sort delivery yourself and add tracking later?

Proof of the pudding - top listing sold earlier this evening, no simple delivery nonsense, tracking box available, all as it used to be. Still got my 5 days handling also!

Either yourself or your buyer will be charged for a simple delivery label. I'm not sure how difficult ebay make it for you to get a refund but you have 14 days to apply for it. It's perhaps less hassle to set it as buyer pays and they are supposed to get a refund of the unused label after 30 days.
As for the difficulty in getting your price set without it reverting to simple, I think Rick suggests you don't click out of the price box but go straight down to the save button.

Just spoken to Ebay and they said that if you select the 'Medium Package' (Up to 61 x 46 x 46 cm) and put the correct weight, Royal Mail will honour it as they have a special agreement!

Same for business, would be nice of them to tell us before implementing it, I will just buy labels direct from Evri and put the tracking number on.

Check how much this will cost you looks to be around £13!!!
