Has anyone here managed to use eBay SD and bring a label on collection

NOT YET. I suffered my first 'simple' delivery recently. On the Get Prepaid Label  ebay web page, I 'booked' a RM collection on the RH side of the page. I selected the collection day ( next day) and entered a safe place and booked. No confirmation, no buyer address ( to check the label they suppposedly bring is correct, no tracking number.

So I then clicked Get prepaid label. Immediately, a label was emailed.

The next day, I waited to intercept the postman, who knew nothing about the collection. So I booked a collection with RM and had to pay 30p and also print my own label. I have been booking my own collections with label for 1 1/2 years now with no problems whatsoever.

I contacted ebay 'help' they started blaming RM and could offer no usefull help. Did my action of getting the label, cancel the booking ??.  Where can we find the correct way of ensuring a collection

My second attempt at SD, using RM collection with label, worked!!

The procedure was  as follows:

on orders sumary page ,click get prepaid label.   On the RH of the 3 boxes,  add safeplace if desired then select book

it does not end there

at bottom left, click blue button ( get prepaid label ,  again, I think)

you can then see confirmation and see the label if you want to. RM will email you with confirmation. I prefer to write the postcode and tracking on the parcel.

note: They say that if you select a safeplace, RM can only collect one parcel. But I have found using collection long before SD came along that if you write the postcode and tracking on each parcel, my postman is happy with few

You should also get an email from RM

As electro-7599 says. The having to open the label you don't need (ie clicking the big blue button) is the big Gotcha.  At that point the confirmation e-mail from Royal Mail arrives, sometimes before the page has even finished loading.

However my reading of it is that for items left in a Safe Place the postman can only bring one label.  I'd assumed that if I labelled them myself they'd all be taken but haven't tested this, nor am likely to as having more than one parcel to go when I also happen to be out is an un-likely combination of circumstances.

Cacas vendit.

I think the reasoning is that if the postperson brings the labels, then 2 parcels would cause confusion if left unattended. If you write the postcode and tracking number on each, then my postie is happy with a few at once. There is no problem if you add your own labels.

Not sure if specifying a safeplace would actually stop them  bringing more that one label. Perhaps only specify safeplace for one, ( on the rare occasion that I sell 2 in one day !!)

I always use a box on the drive ( safeplace)  to avoid disturbing the dogs but in the area where I live, it is safe to do so.
