Evri have lost the parcel I shipped which was an expensive and rare book costing £126. I have contacted Evri and EBay but cannot see how to claim compensation. It was sent through EBay Simple delivery and the customer unfortunately chose Evri. This is so frustrating.

YOu need to explain that it was a simple delivery item, and thus its ebay's problem with the buyer to resolve.
At this point in time you should still have the monies from the sale? Are you saying this isn't the case?

I take it the tracking number hasn't updated then to show where it is . Ebay say using SD covers the item for loss or damage . My sister inlaw sent an item with evri and she dropped it off at the parcel shop ,but a week later the buyer said it hadn't arrived ,so my sister in law went back to the drop off shop only to find that there was lots of parcels there including hers and the staff said they hadn't had time to deal with them ,so my sister in law was really cross with them ,a few days later the parcel reached its destination .We notice in our local evri drop off shop the parcels aren't collected for several days the sack will be sat for up to 4 days before being collected .

common practice for evri up and down the uk
the delivery drivers collect the parcels when they get room on their vans
drivers point of view : deliver parcels and get my bonus or collect parcels getting nothing and filling my van up making it awkward to deliver.............ummm leave the collection parcels behind
dpd do this too
