Changes again to payouts again

Why can't ebay leave a things alone they changed the payout so you had to request it now they are holding payment until an item has been delivered and verified Have I got this right  and can we still post an item ourselves or are we expected to purchase the postage through ebay. My sellers  don't say when they receive an item does ebay expect this new system to work any better?

Re: Changes again to payouts again

Yes that'll be the next unfair term they will impose. It's probably a case of a few fraudulent sellers spoiling it for all the genuine ones with positive feedback and long standing accounts.

They probably accrue more interest in the bank as well holding the funds for longer.

Yes agreed. If the system fails after we as sellers have fully complied, we will get penalised through no fault of our own.

Re: Changes again to payouts again

Totally agree, would rather have selling fees than this ridiculous new system. I have deleted all my items and will not sell anymore until they change it back.Maybe if everyone did the same they would have to change  it

Re: Changes again to payouts again

I'm still waiting on royal mail confirming a signed for item from before Christmas, exactly what will eBay do with our money then when it can't be confirmed it's been delivered even after paying the ridiculous cost of postage these days

Although trying to claim from them is a nightmare in itself that you end up giving up, royal mail are awful

I've complained to eBay but also deleted every single item I'm selling until they change back they will not make a penny out of me, maybe if everyone does this they will have no choice but to change their stupid new system

So basically you are 'out of pocket' through no fault of your own. Not good! Sent from Samsung Mobile on O2

Very off putting to sellers this new payout system. Sitting on your money for an item you have sold and having to rely on other parties to do there bit before you get paid out. Sent from Samsung Mobile on O2

Re: Changes again to payouts again

yeah, it's pure rude. I've been selling on ebay for a long time but havig
to pay for tracking for small items is ridiculous and not worth the postage
unless you buy postage labels from ebay which aren't cheap either. I see it
as a pure rip off of loyal sellers and i think i'm done with ebay and i'm
looking for a new platform to sell on.

It is not just that part of it - if you read the comment he says that when he contacted the Ombudsman they agreed that eBay have no right to hold on to the funds in the first place - so I will still be contacting them.

Just seen your post from nearly a week ago what did the Ombudsman say ?

Not sure if you have seen one of the latest updates on this new fee, but this may help you if you are selling items for a value of £10 or less....

We’ve also heard your feedback and understand that shipping costs are particularly top of mind for low price items. When you’re selling a single item for £10 or less, and it’s sent untracked, funds will now be available 24 hours after you receive positive buyer feedbackThis will be live by the end of February.

Yep,  I know,  most buyers do not leave feedback, and I would never usually recommend this,  but sending the buyer a polite message,  asking if they would kindly leave some feedback, explaining with eBay's new rules, payouts from sales are not released until a buyer leaves feedback.

I would though recommend only asking the once,  anymore and it may look like harassment.

Think then,  most buyers then would leave some ?

Re: Changes again to payouts again

They know buyers don't leave feedback. They know couriers don't register
all their deliveries and they know they can switch off the delivery link
between eBay and couriers ensuring that delivered tracked items appear
undelivered forever. Why? To hold sellers funds in their high interest
accounts for as long as possible.

They will only release the money when they can't justify holding it any
longer as the buyer hasn't claimed undelivered at the end of 2+ weeks,
although eBay knows that buyers are quick to report undelivered items. eBay
takes a buyers protection fee, so isn't that to cover claims? eBay also has
the ability to apply payment holds & all sellers have linked bank accounts.
It's the hold timescale that's causing the backlash as really there's no
reason other than eBay's greed.

No wonder they're advertising for more private sellers to execute their
lucrative money making plans on.

Re: Changes again to payouts again

Why on earth do you sell on Ebay? All you do is state how bad it is.

You undercut business sellers on the price of your new items  on a private account without any consideration for fairness!

Re: Changes again to payouts again

Hi, i haven't heard back from the ombudsman but the waiting time for
payments has passed and ebay did wait until the 14 days was up before they
pain me. I think it's a good idea for every seller that has the same
problems with ebay to contact the ombudsman eventually ebay will have to
take notice.
