Changes again to payouts again

Why can't ebay leave a things alone they changed the payout so you had to request it now they are holding payment until an item has been delivered and verified Have I got this right  and can we still post an item ourselves or are we expected to purchase the postage through ebay. My sellers  don't say when they receive an item does ebay expect this new system to work any better?

Re: Changes again to payouts again

Yes this is another terrible change - we will be forced to use tracking for every item to prove delivery - what if it is a small item that has previously sent untracked by letter post. So now sellers will need to raise prices to cover tracking. Seemingly sellers are now responsible for how well Royal Mail etc does and by experience tracking does not always show the true status - often it shows as undelivered when it has been delivered for example.

And to add insult to injury it says we won't get paid for TWO DAYS after delivery has been proven! Another ruse for Ebay to delay or avoid paying sellers.

Re: Changes again to payouts again

14 days wait if an untracked item is sent as ebay can't confirm receipt. A lot of buyers do not use Feedback so why is there no button available for the buyer to simply click to confirm receipt?  It's a disgrace.

Re: Changes again to payouts again

Indeed - maybe I will try going into my local high street shop and tell them I won't pay until I get it home! What's the betting that the next change will be Ebay refusing to pay sellers unless we get positive feedback.

Re: Changes again to payouts again

This is how eBay will make their money after stopping selling fees. They hold the buyers/sellers money making interest. We all know that not all deliveries aren't marked on eBay by the courier & this is exactly what eBay wants as the longer they have the money the better. They stopped selling fees to gain more sellers purely for this plan. Please don't tell me they will make any efforts to confirm delivery. We will all need to rely on couriers to mark deliveries as successful to ever see our money. I have no problem with selling fees & understand eBay is a business but if this is wrong and I'm closing my account so won't be selling or even buying from eBay. Simply bring back selling fees or lose sellers & buyers

Re: Changes again to payouts again

hi. this i consider to be the final straw after struggling to view the status of an active listing for several months without wasting time trawling through all the listings. This latest change to the payments system is a recipe for disaster for the seller. Failing delivery driver/ systems together with unscrupulous buyers, to which Ebay seem biased, two family accounts will be severely curtailing if not stopping their activity after 13 years.

Re: Changes again to payouts again

Totally agree

Ebay thought it was doing us a favour by announcing its free to sell and then change the payment policy so we are responsible for transferring our OWN money and then changing again back to depositing OUR money and then changing AGAIN to the avarice of holding onto OUR money until the item is delivered. This is an absolute disgrace and only making the FAT CATS get even FATTER

Reeling us in with their abolition of fees and then changing terms 3 times in a matter of months just to line their own pockets!

The amount of interest accrued by ebay in holding OUR money is vulgar and simple greed

They have not taken into account sellers lifestyle in this ridiculous move

I for one suffer with depression and anxiety and agoraphobia and have my parcels collected by Royal Mail

Royal Mail have the worst tracking system known to man

I knew when I heard about "its now free to sell" on Ebay there would be a trade off

A mercenary company with absolutely no scruples and no good will

One day we will ALL be compensated for the the percentage they dared to STEAL from OUR postage payments as well.

The end!!

Re: Changes again to payouts again

Absolutely with you. They dropped the fees simply to gain more private
sellers to steal from. Yes exactly Royal Mail don't record all deliveries
on eBay and therefore how is eBay going to confirm the delivery? If the
problem is being caused by sellers not reimbursing buyers doesn't this also
mean this will affect returns. Next week will be told we won't get paid
until the buyers right to return timescales have lapsed. The bottom line is
eBay has worked out they make more money the longer they hang into ours.
The buyer gets the goods but we have no money or protection from them .We
will less & less successful deliveries being logged on eBay I'm 100% sure
of that. It will backfire as they lose both sellers & buyers go elsewhere
♥️♥️♥️

Once this system comes in to effect I'm back to selling elsewhere. I'm done with selling on Ebay from that point on.

Re: Changes again to payouts again

There's only so much we can do as sellers. We can have all the tracking
numbers entered on eBay but still have items that look like they're not
delivered purely because the courier doesn't log the delivery when it's
delivered. It leaves it wide open from buyers to make false no delivery
claims & sellers without payment. I use Royal Mail because if they don't
mark as delivered I can claim & they can't argue with their own systems
that don't show it's delivered ♥️

Re: Changes again to payouts again

I have today gone into my sellers hub and had no choice but to put my small letter items to tracked, costing an extra 50p, and now only use Royal Mail.as I do not trust Evri to scan they have delivered.

I have made a complaint about this, but it was rejected.

Unbelievable  there are times delivery can take 10 days, not often but happens

Re: Changes again to payouts again

Its bad that the buyer has no indication on the listing page of how much the extra fee is. My £65 radio just appears at a random price of £68.32. Why cant they be transparent and tell the buyer he is paying £65 + their 'protection' fee? I believe Vinted itemise their fee... In fact I think it used to be optional.

As a business seller you are not bound by the new rules if you upgrade to a  business account.

Re: Changes again to payouts again

In fact I've just received an of of £55.07 on my £65 listing. Is that including their fee or not including?? Do I get £52ish or do I get £55.07

What happens if the buyer returns the item and make false claims that it was damaged, what happens if they damage your item, the buyer gets his money back and you have a broken item

Exactly the same thing as happened before the new rules.

Re: Changes again to payouts again

Sellers have zero protection with eBay. If a buyer wants their money back for any arbitrary reason, eBay will back them, even if you don't accept returns. I've had this happen to me twice. Now this borderline unlawful policy regarding payments to sellers is impacting small private sellers unduly.
