Partial refund

I bought a 'guitar effect floor pedal' and received it.

The item has 2 problems:

1) One knob-top of the item is broken, the knob still works but the top is shattered. This was not mentioned in the advert. The seller claims the damage happened in postage and has asked me to contact the postage company but I don't know how to do that.

2) One of the feet on the item is not original and it doesn't sit level. This was not mentioned in the advert.

I don't want to send the item back but I would like to get some of the money back. The item was about £210. I can get replacement parts but it will cost me about £25.

Ebay doesn't appear to have a way for me to directly contact them to ask what to do and has instead sent me here.

Has anyone got any advice?

Re: Partial refund

Contact the seller and ask them.   You have 30 days from delivery date to open a "Not as described" return.   With that open the seller can still offer a partial refund but do not close the case until you get it.  You won't be able to open another one.    If they prefer to send a refund without you opening a case that's fine but don't let the deadline pass.   They may stall until it's gone.

To open a case start a return on here:
https://www.ebay.co.uk/help/buying/returns-refunds/return-item-refund?id=4041
select "Doesn't match description" and if necessary escalate it to eBay after 3 complete working days.

The way cases are handled differs if it was.
