Seller does not reply to messages about a failed item within warranty period

I bought an EV charging cable in July 2025 and it has failed. It was sold with a five year warranty but is now out of the 30 day return period. I have tried to contact the seller twice but there is no response. eBay's automated response is unhelpful and I seem unable to find a way of starting a text chat with an agent. Advice please. Thanks

Any warranty offered is only ever going to be as good as your ability to enforce it when required, so they're pretty worthless for an online purchase unless the seller is a reputable UK business brand.

If you paid with a debit or credit card you have 120 days to issue a not as described chargeback via your card provider, you're still within time to do that.

You are out of time to start a return through Ebay and this is entirely between you and the seller.

If you bought from a UK business seller, they may have an address, a phone number or an alternative email you can use to contact them.

However, online warranties can be very difficult to enforce.

As you have bought an item online which is not fit for purpose, you may still be in time to start a chargeback with your payment provider - generally they allow 120 days.  (Not Paypal.)
