Just wanted to ask a question.
If I gave a partial refund to the buyer and they ignore it throughout the return case, will eBay favour the seller over the buyers lack in responsibility to answering to the partial refund given to them?

You can offer part refund through case, if buyer accepts, payment made and case closes.
Or as we have advised you, buyer escalates case and gets refund as well as item.

Did the buyer request a partial refund or did they want to return it for a full refund?

That's not what I'm asking. It's simply a general question regarding partial refunds and if a buyer ignores it

Ebay will support the buyer and on return I would assume that the balance of the money will be refunded. Depending on how you did the partial refund, he mightvstill get a full refund.
Why did you give a partial refund? That would not prevent buyer opening a return case.

No it's when they do open a return case if anything is wrong with the item and you give a partial refund.
So no matter if the Buyer lies or not, the buyer will always win no matter what evidence is given that suppors you claim over theirs?

You can't just give a buyer a partial refund through an open case.
You can offer a partial refund which the buyer can accept or refuse.
If you offer a partial refund and the buyer chooses to accept it, they also get to keep the item purchased.
