Dealing with a Rogue Buyer misusing Returns Scheme

So I just recently sold a Louis Vuitton shoulder strap that had been removed from its original bag being badly damaged and got clamps so it converted the strap into a detachable shoulder strap. Buyer got it and now want to return it because they believe it isn't real. I gave them the information you see about, but said they know Louis Vuitton bags, let alone complain about the clamps not being authentic to the brand which I detailed it clearly in the listing description. Louis Vuitton I know does both leather and fabric style products.

They now trying to get eBay to back for them but I believe I have the upper hand as they have not provided proof of the straps authenticity issue.

I said that I would happily refund/accept return if their is evidence to support there case. I have reported them for misusing the returns scheme but wanted to ask afew questions.

Do they ever get back to you if you use the 'Report a Buyer' option?

Will Buyer win over me without providing proof of it's legitimacy?

NOTE that they took photos of same images as mine on listing and have not detailed exactly why they think it's not legit.

But I didn't say the clasps weren't original so therefore the buyer is wrong. I only said the Louis Vuitton was authentic.

+ 2 clasps and screwdriver means it comes with additional 2 clasps and screwdriver and doesn't show from the title or description that it's authentic to the brand or strap.

Your confusing yourself with what you seeing. If the clasps were original I would of shown in title and description as  "Authentic Louis Vuitton Detachable Shoulder Strap + Authentic 2 Clasps & Screwdriver”

Thinking about it, I think I should of placed it as "converted Louis Vuitton Detachable Shoulder Strap + 2 Clasps and Screwdriver”

Ebay don't require proof if buyer claims item is not as described.

Issue returns label and refund in full on return, only then can you report buyer,

Don't expect ebay to reply though.

If you refuse or ignore case, ebay force refund and buyer keeps item.

But that's just stupid. How can that be fair on the Seller if the Buyer is playing games and misusing their Money back guarantee scheme?

Like at least give something to show that you believe the item is not authentic then it calls for fair judgement on the case itself.

It's no wonder other selling platforms like depop are becoming more popular over eBay.

I think eBay need to put in contact details for all the popular brands so it can be used for the eBay community as a secondary alternative to their authentication scheme.

Ebay say as they never see item, they don't know if you sent correct item or buyer is lying.

so they always side with buyer.

Best to get item back, then you can resell it.

Depop and Vinted follow the same returns process (except they require the buyer to fund the cost of the return postage). If a buyer claims that the item they've received isn't as described they can return it.

The problem is that your title says “Authentic Louis Vuitton Detachable Shoulder Strap + 2 Clasps and Screwdriver”

In the description you say “The clasps are not original and the shoulder strap has come from an Louis Vuitton bag converted into a detachable shoulder strap.”

Unfortunately the buyer is correct.

Unless you issue returns label before buyer escalates case, you will lose anyway.

Sometimes you have to grit Your teeth and accept ebay policy.
