False information on ebay item for sale

I wanted to report sellers falsley claiming an item is  coming from England. Adverts complete with British flag and claiming to come from England are coming after five days from China to a British Parcel company who then send the items on from Gloucester.

This is dishonest but I can find no way to report it to eBay

Re: False information on ebay item for sale

The  location is showing the location of the item not the seller, I cannot disagree that the UK flag is  misleading,  but a seller could argue eBay allow item location so flag denotes item location,  yep thin line there, but it is allowed.

Many Chinese sellers use UK forwarding Companies to expediate a faster dispatch,  hence the UK location , and again this is allowed.

Should you see a listing for example with a UK location and a few days delivery,  then item then arrives weeks later with Chinese postage,  that can be reported as incorrect and misrepresenting the location.

Re: False information on ebay item for sale

I have read the article you sent but your policies are not working.
The article is years old and yet these false claims are still made
regarding delivery.

I attach the advert I used to buy stove tape.
It has pictures of Union Jack flags and says free fast shipping. I also
attach the envelope that my sub standard product was packed in. On the
front it shows that it came from Yodel, a parcel delivery company based in
England but on the back is the customs label from China. Obviously my item
was sent in a bulk posting from China and re- labeled somewhere in England.
Which is why it took around seven days to arrive.

You have not rooted out all these dishonest adverts despite what you claim.

I think you may not realise,  you are speaking to members like yourself, not eBay,  hence the title of this forum  'Member to Member Support'.

eBay do not come and read any posts here,  sometimes more the pity!

Re: False information on ebay item for sale

My experience shows that the advert is purposely inaccurate. At the top
next to the British Union Jack flag it says "FAST SHIPPING UK"
My package shows that it came from Yodel, a UK parcel service but the rear
of the package shows a customs label from China.
Packets are obviously sent from China in bulk postings and the
redistributed by Yodel to make it look local. Which is why the item took
seven days to arrive.
Furthermore ,like so many products from China the log fire tape was
substandard, supposed to be self adhesive but with dried up glue. I had to
return it.
As long as Ebay make half hearted attempts to control these posters the
problem will continue.

Re: False information on ebay item for sale

Thank you for explaining this.
I thought it was too easy to talk to anyone from this large souless company
who never make it easy to report anything that is detrimental. had I ever
been able to point this our to ebay I would have done so.
