Buyer missed delivery then changed address

Hello,

My buyer missed the initial delivery of an order I had sent him, he has then opted to change the delivery address, this was done via himself and the courier as it was an option with the missed delivery, I had no part in this nor would I of expected to of had.

The courier has then attempted this changed address and left a missed card however the buyer disputes this stating no attempt was made by the courier.

The package has now gone missing with the courier, Yodel I should add.

My inpost dashboard just states that a delivery attempt was made and a card was left.

The delivery attempt was made on the 30th December but the buyer didn’t make me aware of any issue until 4th December.

Am I now responsible for refunding the buyer and chasing yodel which has already proved a challenge or is this the buyers responsibility?

This is a high value order over £100.

The buyer hasn’t to this point opened an item not received case, all contact has been through eBay messaging.

Many thanks in advance for any help or guidance that can be provided.

Re: Buyer missed delivery then changed address

As long as you have tracking to show delivery o even an attempted delivery to the name and address eBay provided for you on the delivery details for the order,  you are covered, and will not have to refund if the buyer opens a case for item not received.

Good idea if you haven't done so already,  is to add that tracking number where you marked the item  as dispatched.
