eBay

Hello all, Someone has used one of my other email addresses to create an account on eBay. It is a completely different email address to that which I use for my account.   I had an email at 1:42pm this afternoon titled "You're in! Thanks for coming to eBay, (name)" followed by another at 1:58pm with a temporary security code, prompting a login to confirm identity. I haven't clicked any links in either email though I have to say the from addresses and the links displayed on a mouse hover-over all look legit. If they're spoof/phishing, they're very good, but I suspect someone's just used pinched my email to create an account and hope I (mistakenly) verify it.   I'm working on the theory that if I don't confirm anything for this email address then their account can't be activated, but by the same token to report anything to eBay or request to close an account, you need to sign in using the account in question... which I can't do because it's not mine and I don't have the password!   Is it any good trying to contact eBay support from my own account to report this, or should I just forward the emails to eBay's spoof address and ignore any more I may receive?   Thank you so much for any help and advice you can offer, I'd be very grateful 🙂 Have a lovely weekend, lovely helpful people! ... Just had my very first return request 😞 the item was sealed and new but once they opened it, it appears to be faulty.   Anyway. I've accepted a return but realise this is the biggest downfall of using Ebay. When the item sold for £200, I never got that full amount because ebay take their cut and then paypal took their cut. Unfortunately, I guess I have to refund the person their full £200 back so I'm out of pocket 😞   Then to add to that ebay charging for a return label!   ... View more

I have purchased a relatively expensive item from the US to the UK.   I have received it and the protective blister pack within the actual parcel box, in addition to the actual item is damaged to such an extent it is actually separated.   The item was sent initially via USPS to EBay GSP in Erlanger and then via eBay GSP onwards to the UK.   My question is, I have contacted the seller and I'm sure they'll say it's the responsibility of Pitney Bowes for the GSP. How do I go about any refund? And will this only cover the actual shipping paid to Pitney Bowes or the import duties too? ... View more

Hello, I'm not a business.  I buy and sell here and there.  I prefer Paypal and when I sell I use Buy it Now.  My average balance in my Paypal account is around the £100 mark.  Now when I have to change to this new payment method with everything going through Ebay not Paypal, if someone pays me by Paypal I presume it will no longer go into my Paypal account and I'll have to physicially move it myself from my bank account so I have enough in there for when I purchase something?  Am I right?  Sorry to sound stupid, in my 60s and the videos I havge watched don't seem to mention what happens when people pay you by Paypal. I am new to selling, I listed some items worth a few hundred pounds on auction during the 1 pound max end fee and free insertion period. I also listed some other cheap items some within this period and some outside of it. Anyway, I now have my Ebay invoice but I can't make sense of it. On the full list of my items listed and or sold, the 'amount charged' column shows 1 pound and all of  the other fees are listed in the 'savings' column. My problem is that the invoice is for 35 pounds, but it also shows promotional savings of 26 pounds. What happened with the 1 pound total, does the 26 pounds come from a 61 pound bill, I'm thinking my bill should be something closer to 10 pounds, a few 1 pound bills and some additional insertion fees, can anyone tell me what is going on.?? ... I contacted this seller about the postage of an item he was seller (via a bid) ... it was already advertised as Royal Mail 2nd class,  I asked him to confirm he would send it by Royal Mail.  I won the bid, and paid for item via PayPal. I also thanked him for using Royal Mail to send this item. But he used Hermes,  ihave had years of problems with Hermes as their local driver Refuses to deliver to my address.  So I told him to get it and post it via Royal Mail as he promised he would do.  He stated he was going to fo this but doesn't like my attitude,  so he offered me a refund, before I could get back to him he contacted Ebay, who let him send me a refund.  Without contacting or speaking to me. As i would not accepted a refund.   Do you think I was out of order, to demand the item i paid for. hi i recently won a auction and i paid with paypal then the next day the seller sent me a message saying they can't get into their paypal right know and could i send payment to another account this sounds dodgy to me I just checked my paypal and the payment is pending also there account looks weird it say they have been amember since 2018 but they have no feedback or feedback score I still have the option the cancel the payment as it is still pending for some reason I don't know if i'm just being a bit paranoid ... I've created a listing, and in the "Product details" section at the very top, "Prefill this listing with eBay catalogue info" is ticked. When I click on "See details" I get a preview of the full product information. However -the product information does not show when I preview my listing.   Can anyone help me with this? ... View more
