Hello. I'm really bemused by this - not angry or upset, just genuinly totally bemused by eBay policy. I've recently had a buyer who won an auction and then messaged me to say they had found a similar item cheaper and wanted me to cancel their winning bid. I cancelled their bid (15+ years on eBay teaches you that it's simpler for all cocerned!). Despite me cancelling their bid the seller then left negative feeback. There were no angry message exchanges - or anything inappropriate. The buyer was simply malicious in leaving negative feedback. How is this possible? They messed me around by bidding (and winning!), they then asked me to cancel the bid which I did, and despite me losing my time, effort and money - they then slap me with negative feedback! I approached eBay to remove the feedback - only to receive a message saying: 'We’ve looked carefully at this feedback and see that it doesn’t qualify for removal.' Seriously? So, by eBay's own policy it is totally fine for a 'buyer' (I use that term loosely) to bid on and win an item, then ask the seller to cancel, and then for no reason leave negative feedback? Am I missing something here? Because eBay have now passed judgement on the case, it looks like I can't appeal or ask them to look into it again. Something is very wrong with this policy. Thoughts please!
