Asking EBay to step in after I closed the return as a buyer

A small electrical item was bought it arrived not working.

I contacted seller after starting return request.

seller said "no need to return and will send replacement,"

I closed return request.

Replacement received which was another non worker.

seller requested return of both non working units.
now unable to start return request.

seller has been dragging his feet

MY QUESTION.

Should I fork out yet more money to cover return postage to such an unreliable seller?

Thank you

No,  do not fork out more money for the return,  there is no guarantee the seller will refund you now,  or even send out a third faulty item.

Never close a request,  and never agree to a  replacement,  as that then is not covered if found to be not working,  as yours is,  under eBay's 30 day MBG.

You have to mark this down to experience and a loss,  and to remember never to close a case early,  but to escalate it on day 4 if the seller has not refunded beforehand,  and then eBay   will step in and force the refund.
