eBay

Hi I recently sold a wedgewood plate, which I listed as "used". As far as I could tell I was sending a good used condition plate with no obvious defects. The buyer has sent me pictures with what they claim are chips to the laquer, but these were too small for me to notice them, and besides it is a used item. They are asking for a partial refund. I recently had to ask ebay to get involved when I neeed to return 2 pairs of shoes to a buyer who sent the incorrect items and was not responding to emails. Ebay advised me to return the items and provided me with Royal Mail tracked postage labels. So far so good. The items were duly returned and received in the specified timescale. Still no seller response so, as indicated in the Resolution Centre procedure ebay intervened only to advise me that the purchases are not covered by the refund guarantee! The seller has been removed from ebay too. So, despite following ebay’s procedures and advice to the letter I find myself £33 out of pocket. My worst ebay experience in over 700 transactions. Thoughts please on buyer opening a return on a spinning wheel because the buyer is unable to assemble it! As a fragile item I unassembled it and carefully packed it for transit with insurance to ensure safe transit. item received as sent and so not claiming damaged or not the correct item or not as described but that it wouldn't not have been purchased had I said in the description it would be unassembled for delivery. I forgot to include instructions for reassembling but have since sent these but buyer still not happy and wants to a full refund, saying that the item is not as described!!! I have tried to negotiate but buyer says she is unable to assemble and she has no one else to help!!! Really? I believe it's a case of changed their mind and if so then buyer should return goods with tracked postage.  Appreciate any help!   ... View more
