Deno's Diary Part 3, A new Chapter

Deno (proper name De Novo) was adopted by FHG posters in 2005 when one of them, Shebalator, rescued him from slaughter.

Then - 700lbs underweight with a broken jaw and multiple other ills.




2008 - still struggling with sarcoids but finally fit enough to have a light rider up for the first time so he could
join his mates on a jaunt round the local lanes



2009 - due to sheb’s declining health, a new home was sought for Deno.
A very brave ebayer named upthecreekyetagain ( very apt name I think you will agree) agreed to take him on.
So, now Deno lives in Surrey with the Creeky family, plus 3 lovely mares. He has 5 acres of grass and orchards to roam in and is very happy.



His sarcoids still remain a problem, but a new vet is investigating them further to decide on the best course of palliative care.

Deno is reliant on fundraising and donations for his food, medicines and all the things that make his world that bit nicer.

And to mark the start of the next chapter of his life.

Lol Kaddy could walk under Deno, she is only about 12.2 ish, would like her though, she is so well school and has the flashies extended trot ( ok, Gg was trying for a canter and managed a fab trot)

Robdog has a nice new shiney set of teefs-had the lovely vet do his job two days ago and Rob is sparkling(he had bad breath and some gingivitis as only greys seem to do):O He happy boy now!

A quick heads up to say Freddie is coming tomorrow - Monday - between 10 and 11 in the morning.

Trims for all - Refit of Shoes for Talli and new shows foe Talesha.

Deno has got the first symptoms of a touch of mud fever, hair loss around his feet - we're washing his legs with Hibiscrub, drying thoroughly and keeping him in the stable at night.

Am looking out for some mud fever leggings to try and protect his legs during the day.

Glad Robbie is OK after his teeth been sorted - greys do have such bad mouths 🙂

Did you find the horses hole they escaped from Creeky - presume so as no more wanderings reported 🙂

evening, feeling felieved tonight, gg was offerd 2 ponies to exercise, they were rda but now left as they were a bit strong, I can handle them but they went out on loan but returned as dangerous for young kids :(.

GG would be safe on lead rope but thats pointless.

I would like a lunge rein and lunge whip and retrain but a very good rider said she is scared of them so dont bother, they have food, shelter and care and they dont do people

I like doing surveys - very carthartic.  I take every opportunity to tell them that I avoid noticing advertising and deliberately avoid brands that annoy me with their targetted peddling.

Deno has been kitted out with his brand new rug - this is the third rug this winter 😮

He ripped in half the new rug we bought him last year and he has now destroyed his pink one X-(
