Another on going issue marco@ebay
I am still experiencing issues with postage policies. This has been going on for months now. For example: If list an item with free postage and then list another with postage, it is defaulting to the free postage policy. It takes me 2 or 3 revisions before it will add the correct postage price.
Hi cobwebcottage, thanks for your reply.
Are you referring to this thread here? If so, I had a follow up call on this yesterday, and I am afraid I didn't get any relevant updates. However, we are still looking into this. I realize it's been a while, so I really appreciate your patience on this.
As soon as I find out more about this, I will be updating you in the thread in question.
Thank you,
Marco

Yes that's the one. I will look forward to your update.
Many thanks.

Hello,
I've consistently been having issues with My Summary page - Firstly when loading the items I'm bidding on do not show up. Tried looking in 'Bids & Offers' which apparently shows I'm bidding on nothing, have sent / received no offers & have never 'Didn't Win' anything all of which is untrue. I can reload & reload My Summary page & after sometime the items I'm bidding on suddenly appears.
Is this an ongoing / known problem?
Hi sweetcharity.2013, thanks for your post.
We haven't received any reports suiggesting this issue, could you please clear the caches and cookies of your browser and try again? Also, if you are not using Google Chrome, could I suggest you use Google Chrome? If after this, you keep running into the same issue, please let me know and I will take a further look for you.
Thank you,

Hi Marco, there's no particular item number. It's absolutely any book I try to purchase. I tried ringing Books Etc. and the guy I spoke said he couldn't see a problem from their end. So what happens now please? Thanks.

The postage options layout needs an overhaul. At the moment it is a mish mash that is confusing a lot of sellers and leading to the wrong postage options being used.
The parcel size guide is basically the Royal Mail size limits in the first 4 categories smallest ascending - letter/letter, padded envelope/large letter, shoe box/small parcel, cabin luggage/medium parcel.
Now that under those categories eBay are showing the other courier options on that page it doesn't make sense.
For example, the maximum parcel size Evri allow is 245cm and that still applies to a small parcel (eBay's shoe box). If I was sending a snooker cue or a fishing rod depending on the weight I would still go into the shoe box option and disregard the Royal Mail limits that is based on because I know the specific carrier limits. Many sellers who are new to this are getting baffled by it and then further being confused by the carrier weight limits being shown under the selected service. For example again, Evri, pick a shoe box up to 1kg and further down it will say 'up to 15kg'.
eBay should be an expert in this area and see that it doesn't look right.
Removing the packlink legacy tool is also a mistake if sellers can't use a payment method other than PayPal or funds to pay for their labels. I need to show my postage as expenses on a bank statement and once the legacy tool goes it doesn't look as though I will be able to do that so I will be using Parcel2go and continuing to buy off the Royal Mail website instead of eBay.
To be frank with you also, how can Vinted secure postage rates for their users at £2.29, £2.30 for small parcels and eBay can't get anywhere near that for their users?
This is intended to be constructive criticism. These things are putting a lot of users off and driving them elsewhere where it is simple to sell will less mental gymnastics required to understand postage, stay on the right side of very optimistic EDD's and when listing having to complete lots of item specifics and detail that isn't necessarily needed.

Hi,
I have sat back for a few weeks now reading this post every week and each week there is always one issue that comes up at least once a week which is EDD.
I have also rasied this issue in the past, but nothing seems to be happening with it or it is not being addressed and just ignored.
Each time someone raises this issue about EDD not being fit for purpose due to the ludicrous dates eBay shows buyers it is batted off from you guys with the same wording "it is working as designed".
This may be he design of it but the design is flawed and extremely poor, you cannot deny that it is a poor design.
How can an item which has a 2nd class postage service attached to it arrive the very same day that it is meant to be dispatched? it can't, it is impossible, it is a dream but somehow without fail the EDD seems to think it can and shows this to buyers who take this as bible and that items will arrive alot quicker then in reality.
When will eBay realise that thousands of sellers who raise this as an issue, that the design is flawed and needs to be reworked, actually have a point and do something about it?
Please can this be looked into as a matter of urgency or please can details be passed to me of whom i need to contact to get this looked into? as each week you say we will pass it on but since i raised this issue over 6 months ago nothing has been done and it has got worse.

Another update that was not needed.
It used to be when a buyer bought multiple items, I could put the total amount for the partial refund for postage in one box and it would split it across all the items bought. Now this option has been taken away, can it be changed back as made things quicker and easier?
Yet things like being able to put one tracking number in for a multiple orders function is still not there, as need to input into each item. Yet other platforms make it easy with one tracking number for multiple orders in one box.
Thanks for your input, returns_andexdisplay.
We've passed on this feedback for you. If it's taken onboard, we would include it in future updates.
Regarding the refund, while you might not be able to issue a refund, you can set up postage discounts for your buyer in your postage preferences. In this way, you will be able to discount the amount that you wish to discount before the transaction is fully completed.
Thank you,
Marco

Around a month or so ago i asked if something could be added where sellers can alter the dispatch by date for certain items where the buyer is at fault for the delay in dispatch as it is really hurting my seller rating but i have heard nothing back and not noted anything that will be implemneted?
As we sell mostly personalised items we rely on the buyer filling out the personalisation details correctly or in most cases eBay is unable to process them in the first place so we have to reach out to the buyer to ask for these details. Some buyers will respond promptly however others take a day or more to reply this causes the item to be dispatched "late" in eBay's eyes but not late in the buyers eyes. However as soon as we upload tracking information it automatically goes against us as a seller as "late dispatch" but this i not fault of our own.
Other platforms allow the seller to inform the buyer of the change in the dispatch date which will not affect seller ratings, when will eBay implement something similar to assist sellers rather then punishing them?

Hi sifova-0, thanks for your reply.
Without an example, like a screenshot or item number, I wouldn't be able to look into it. However, this is more than likely related to rules set by the seller, which we cannot action/change. If you have more information on this, feel free to let me know and I wouldn't mind taking a further look for you.

Hi,
I asked a few weeks back (probably 6/8) about getting people who can answer direct questions and even better heads of departments to have monthly/quarterly chats, has they been any updates on if this is possible? I'm going to a roadshow event so I'd hate to go and speak to one of these and hear this is the first time we have heard about this and its such a good idea, like they said about the reporting feature being broken (it still is btw), I know you's arent able to force anyone but has there been any replies from the questions or suggestions put forward?
Thanks

One last question - this morning postage label generation wasn't working (pic below) and I just wanted to know if there was somewhere I can check for known problems?
In the past I have looked at the eBay Systems Status page (https://www.ebay.co.uk/sts) but it seems moribund and I can't really remember a time when it showed anything but green ticks.
I look at the Technical Issues discussion area on the Community pages but these tend to be folk having their own 'technical issues' rather than things which eBay put there for our information.
I look at the clickanddrop statuspage.io page for RM which also shows known problems with integrations 'from the other end of the pipe' so to speak .. but often without any anything visible.
Is there an area I'm missing?
Thanks in advance and keep up the great work.
Hi @ccla3379
There isn't really anywhere to check for live updates. The system status site is generally an overview of the main site so specific issues might not flag on it.
The Tech Issues Forum is usually a good place to check. I find they usually show up on there very quickly. We monitor it quite closely, so if you post there we can escalate it to find out if there is a larger issue.
Thanks,
Dave

Hi technthread, thanks for your message.
I will make sure to pass this on, so this can be taken into consideration. I absolutely understand where you are coming from, so please feel free to share your feedback with us when you have any kind of suggestions. Also, on our pages we have an option to leave feedback in case you'd like to do it that way.
Thank you,

Okay Marco, I've just tried adding "The Eagle of the Ninth Chronicles - 9780192789983" to my basket and got the same message again An item you selected wasn't added to your basket because the seller won't sell to buyers that don't meet their requirements."
Hope this helps, thanks.

I will as always pass your feedback on to them to review.

Hi ak_craft_crazy, thanks for your post.
When you share your feedback with us, your feedback will be reviewed, and then a decision will be made to decide whether this is something that can/should be implemented. However, this doesn't necessarily mean that every single feedback/suggestion we get will be taken on board or implemented. Also, we wouldn't be sharing updates on feedback/suggestions that is flagged with us.
Thank you,
Marco

How do I update my personal information (my actual name on eBay)? Please there must be an alternative way I don't want to know the usual method of "going on eBay website, settings, update personal information" because it doesn't work! I have done it a million times. It never saves. I have money that I've been waiting to receive after my sales. It's highly fustrating that such a simple thing is so hard to get round. I've tried with phones, laptop everything. I've tried to call but this company is the hardest to reach honestly. The Ai always ends up sending me a link to the eBay website settings to update information! Which I've said never ever works. There's other issues with the site such as constantly having to log on but it doesn't actually let you log in it keeps asking and asking. Come on guys please

Hi sifova-0, thanks for your reply.
I've just reviewed this for you, and this is not a technical issue or anything similar like that. As I suspected before, this is related to seller rules that were set up that we are unable to action/change.
Thank you,

Hi @pg_kicks
We pass these ideas back to the relevant teams to review but decisions on these suggestions can be made at different levels.
For the Roadshow it's possible that the person you speak to might not be aware of the suggestions. You could be speaking to one of the ProTrader team or one of the specialist that might not be involved with the day to day running of their teams so they might not be aware of this side of things.
At the moment we don't have any plans to change how the chat is run but that could change in the future.
Thanks,
Dave
