Weekly Chat with the eBay Community Team- 13.03.24 @2pm

I asked a couple of weeks back if there was any update to getting management on these meetings so we can get answers within a reasonable time frame as currently some issues seem to go unanswered for months, not exactly helpful when trying to run a business. The reply came after 3pm so I couldnt respond.

I was told that the people in the roadshow wouldnt know about this as they are just pro trader staff, but there would also be management there, I spoke to a few at the open event who had no idea that the reporting system was broken, even though it was mentioned in these chats weekly and we were assured it was passed to the backend team.

So my question is, who was my suggestion reported back to? Just I plan on speaking to anyone in management positions at the roadshow so I'd hate to talk to them and they look at me with a blank face and be told they have no idea why this feedback has not be passed onto them (like they said with the reporting feature).

I'm just a customer trying to make this site work as good as possible but it seems like Im currently talking at a wall.

Thank you in advance.

Hi team,

Please remind me, as I'm sure I'm losing little grey cells,  when a seller cancels citing ' out of stock'  do they now not receive a defect ,  and / or ,  not pay a seller fee, aside from 30 pence.  ?

Thanks.

Hi again,

Is there a validity period required on credit / debit cards registered on eBay accounts.

That is, do they have to have 6 months validity, or is for example, a week left on a card before expiry,  still able to buy items, pay for refunds.

Thank you.

Hi pg_kicks, thanks for your post.

As per Dave reply last week, the weekly chat will remain the same with the same team members that are part of it right now.

Thank you,

Marco

Discussed here https://community.ebay.co.uk/t5/Business-Seller-Board/10-00-MONTHLY-VOUCHER-AS-A-BUSINESS-SELLER/m-p...

Does the wording on the packaging voucher email need updating? It currently says that you can only use the voucher if you pay by PayPal, but this is not the case. I've been using my credit card since eBay switched to Adyen. It seems some sellers are not using their voucher because eBay is telling them they have to use PayPal.

Hi Marco,

Thanks for the reply, sadly you didnt answer the actual question that I asked?

When I suggested the management to come onto the weekly chats (once every month or couple of months) who is this actually passed onto? It has been said that it was passed to the relevant team, but who is this team? Like I said when I have spoken to management on previous suggestions or issues they have looked at me with a blank face and its new info to them.

So I will ask again, which team was this suggestion actually passed onto, I know what Dave said 2 weeks ago I read that and couldnt reply as the chat was locked but that has nothing to do with the question I ask.

What is the plan re dealing with additional charges caused by the GTC listing duration glitch this month. I have 1,480 listings that were started on 1st March and are set to renew a day early on 31st March instead of 1st April as they should. This is going to cause me to be charged £88.86 in additional listing fees that I don't owe on 31st March. Are ebay working to correct the error and extend all affected listings by one day before they reach the renewal date? Or are they going to either give free listings on 31st March or refund the additional fees incurred? I need an idea of what the plan is please.

Dave have reached out, no reply?

Please advise

Hi @fatbobfan

Apologies, I missed the original thread.

The credits would have shown on your invoice. I had any fees manually credited at the time so there wouldn't have been any contact from CS.

Ill have read through the original post after this chat and reply to you there when I have more information.

Thanks,

Dave

Hi tressygirl, thanks for your question.

If you cancel under the reason out of stock you would receive a defect on your account, yes, as that is not a good buying experience. Regarding the fees, you do get the final value fee back. However, you wouldn't get the 30p back.

Thank you,

Marco

Hi darth_baggins, thanks for your reply.

I will send that page for review, so they can look into it, and update it if needed. Thanks for flagging this with us.

Thank you,

Thats not what you advised

You advised the 'team' dealing with the issue would have the credits raised whilst dealing with the issue as a matter of course.

No record of credits being received.

To be clear this issue has still not been resolved, its happening this week

Hi @tressygirl

My understanding is once the card is within date its OK to use. Usually when a card expires and the bank issues a new one, the old card remains active for some transactions like refunds and the back automatically returns the funds to the new card.

It might be something the card provider can confirm in case that differs for different companies.

Thanks,

Dave

Internal processes and team members information, is for internal use only. So, while I appreciate you would like to know more about this, we are not in a position to disclose team members information or internal processes. As Dave advised last week, "it's possible that the person you speak to might not be aware of the suggestions. You could be speaking to one of the ProTrader team or one of the specialist that might not be involved with the day to day running of their teams so they might not be aware of this side of things."

Thank you,

Marco

Excellen,  I just wished to be sure eBay do not require a card to be valid for at least 6 months.  I'm sure this was the case once,  but probably many moons ago..

Thanks again

Unfortunately this is a tech issue on our side. Ive added you tot he list of affected accounts. I don't have a timeframe for the roll out of the fix yet but I'll post in the Tech issues forum once there is an update.

Thanks,

Dave

Again thanks for copy and pasting what I have already read.

The issue is when I spoke to the Vice President of eBay about a major flaw on her platform she had no clue about it, also other management, so whomever you are passing this info to are doing such a terrible job they hide their mistakes. It just seems pointless bringing anything up, I've had to either chase for updates because you's claim you will update when something changes, but dont or you claim everything is working as planned when its not. Hiding behind the info is for internal use only seems like an easy get out when the management claim they never get told about the issues dont you think?
