Both the buyer and seller experience has now been totally ruined by scam sellers based in China.
In some cats it's now virtually impossible to buy anything from a UK based seller. All I see is listing after listing after listing, all based in China, and even the ones that claim to be in the UK are often based in China too.
In the past I could buy decent car parts from honest UK sellers who knew what they were doing. But recently I bought two car parts, and BOTH were bad experiences from Chinese sellers. This is now the typical ebay experience.
The big question is, why is ebay facilitating these scam sellers?
Some business sellers seem to be able to get away WITHOUT listing their address. How and why?... This is ILLEGAL!
Many seem to be able to claim they are based in the UK when it is VERY obvious from their feedback that they are not. This is ILLEGAL! ... Yet ebay does NOTHING about it.
And recently ebay changed the feedback page which seems designed to hide poor feedback. Why?
Is this for the benfit of buyers or is it designed to help the scam sellers?
I just left some negative feedback for one of the scam sellers I referenced above and it's already be buried. The new feedback page by default shows the most 'relevant' feedback for that item. It shows 3 positive feedbacks for that item but my feedback is nowhere to be seen.
If I change it to 'All items' it still shows the most 'relevant' feedback, but since around half of them are in German, how is that relevant?
It's also strange that they are ALL positive, yet if I change it to most 'recent' feedback I finally get to see my neg as well as two neuts from other buyers. Why is it SO hard to see negative feedback?
I stopped buying and selling on Amazon because China is now running the show and it's become an awful experience. I came back here because ebay was somewhat better, but sadly they are going the same way.
Why would anyone want to buy or sell here anymore?
Don't they care about their site, or are they now run by China as well?

What neg?
Your feedback left shows no such problem.

Well, as if what I've described in my OP is not bad enough, it looks like they've had the neg removed!!! 😧
The big question is, why is ebay giving so much support to these scam sellers?

Presumably because they bring in lots of revenue.

Read my last reply.
The scam seller has had the neg removed.
You can't make this stuff up can you?

I just use the uk only filter as i would never buy from China.

"The scam seller has had the neg removed."
Ebay doesnt do itself any favours removing negs.
If people cant trust feedback they will simply buy elsewhere.

Bought an item 6/11/24 purporting to be coming from Sheffield from seller merxi86. My 'bad' not checking feedback before buying - now neg feedback confirmed item coming from China - still waiting Yodel now have parcel. Wake up Ebay monitors, do your job.

ALL the Chinese accounts use the same UK address to register as fake UK sellers. its in the UK its a Nottingham mail address centre usually and there is a Manchester one too. Filtering UK only will NOT stop Chinese items appearing for sale. YOU ARE buying from China without even realising it. Your item might say 4 days delivery but then takes 2 weeks to actually arrive with a readdress post label...the Chinese scammers now have about 90% of the UK market sales.

Are you saying that when you look at the business contact details the address is either Nottingham or Manchester, or is this where the items are said to be located?
The only way to avoid chinese sellers is to look at the feedback page for the country of ebay registration.

This is what I do but it takes time filtering through.. why is the default not UK, why do we have to keep on using filters - if I search for something I am flooded with items in the States or China before the UK.
Being as this is a UK site then the default should be UK - if buyers want to search for items elsewhere they have the option of using the filters for that search. I am positive if eBay sorted this many Chinese sellers would not show as their registration is in China and not Manchester, Sheffield or Nottingham... If they do use a " warehouse" address the items still come from China and I prefer to buy from my own Country.

Do you really think ebay give a toss as long as they rake the money in?They are am told subsidising them with low postage and fees
I Have problems with Chinese seller they ruining my business with the *bleep* the send out its notably poor quality and they get cheap postal incentives and very low ebay fees.
I know its *bleep* cos i had customers (more than one) buy an item from me and then take out a return and sent the chinese *bleep* to me that totally different colour and the cheapest *bleep* y0u can think of .Unfinished paintwork on the underside. Ebay when I report say we advise you to refund the item because according to them they have no proof it was not me who sent it.I have to refund 50% and take a loss
Where is the ebay seller protection its ridiculous
caremblemsuk(HONEST SELLER) Not seller of *bleep* 🙈

The UK filter will show you items listed in the UK, the seller may be in China.
Many Chinese / Far Eastern Companies use a forwarding depot in the UK for a faster dispatch so this is all above board, but doesn't show the seller's country of registration.
To do this you need to click on the item, click on the feedback for the seller which takes you to their Feedback profile and there, it will inform you of that seller's country of registration.
For me, the price usually denotes where that seller is based. Cheap but not confirming of course, quality.
