Voucher use with offers

This is in response to @karlos1021 thread entitled 'Voucher use if sent offer' as I can't respond directly to that thread.

Although, eBay usually state that discount coupons can't be combined with any other offer often they can actually be combined.

If you receive an offer/counter offer from a seller then the discount code needs to be entered at checkout.

Similarly, if you are making an offer and the seller isn't opted in to auto-payments then the code needs to be entered at checkout.

However, if the seller is opted in auto-payments (there will be a message confirming this on the offer confirmation screen) then the discount code needs to be entered at the time of making the offer (there is an option to add a coupon on the offer confirmation screen, which in itself proves that it is possible to utilise both).

Thank you for this.  Do you know what then happens to the voucher if the seller refuses the offer?

If the seller declines the offer then the voucher won't have been used (checkout not completed) so the voucher should be available to use again.

Hi. Do you know what happens if the seller counter offers at a higher price. Is the original voucher code reapplied automatically if I accept the new price or do I have to reapply the voucher again?

If the seller makes a counter offer then they are in effect declining the original offer.  As a result any pre-authorised payment is cancelled which means that if you accept the counter offer you will need to checkout manually and, therefore, any voucher code will need to be reapplied during the checkout process.
