Good afternoon everyone
As many of you are aware eBay introduced automatic positive feedback for business sellers, providing certain criteria's. The item had been received on time, no issues raised, and the buyer has not left feedback already.
eBay were so excited to announce this improvement to business sellers, (an eBay representative spoke to me at a local meetup). It was working for a while, and now it appears that this improvement that eBay were so delighted to announce has stopped working "not working as intended"
We had a flurry of sales (now dead) and we should have had the eBay auto feedback implemented, but this has not happened.
I have raised this with the eBay community chat team on Wednesday 17th September , but as yet heard nothing back.
Has anyone else noticed the eBay auto feedback not being applied?
Best wishes

The state of the whole site and customer service is just shocking. You could spend the whole day arguing and pointing out their incompetence, back to back. Now it turns out, when called out they keep it quiet.

Hi masonskingsshop
I have reported it again to the eBay community chat, it appears a few sellers are having the same issue.
Just got the normal reply "we are looking into it and will get back to you" It is amazing how eBay thinks that reply is acceptable, we would not get away with this if we said this to our buyers, they would want instant action.
Best wishes

Caught between a rock and a hard place.
eBay's issues are ongoing.
We all know they have a variety of issues that a great many sellers have, resolving those issues would either be counterproductive for eBay or cost them money.
We as sellers are expected to provide a service above and beyond every single time (which is impossible), yet if we were to treat our buyers the way eBay treats sellers, those accounts would be long gone.
I cant imagine telling a buyer that "Yes it's an issue and we're aware of it, but we will look into it and contact you back some time later with our resolution" - they'd burst a blood vessel and eBay CS would be on the phone demanding that we be more professional on pain of account removal.
Also i doubt eBay would allow us to defer our payment to them on some arbitrary grounds that may or may not be subject to a random event occurring later if we think they did a good job.

The feedback isnt the main issue (ok it's an issue.... but not the *main* one).
It's the fact we have a tracked service, which then doesnt upload most of the time, and when it does, eBay ignores it. A certain type of "buyer" thinks they can get a freebie and opens an INR case.
Is it by any chance Royal Mail's Tracked 24/Tracked 48 services that are not updating within eBay? If so, does the missing automatic feedback relate to orders that were sent via T24/T48?

@custom-giftsuk wrote:No automatic tracking has been uploaded this week at all
The last "tracking" event uploaded automatically was for a sale on the 14th.
So I've attached an image showing the situation
Item bought on 14th
Posted 15th
Delivered on the 17th (as per Royal Mail)
Tracking was uploaded on the 23rd which was yesterday.
eBay still show that the item is "Running behind" and is not even posted.
I'm wondering if uploading the tracking after the item has been delivered is causing the glitch.
Are the sellers who are having problems doing similar, or is anyone who has tracking automatically added also having the problem?

Its RM24/48 which has tracking.
We're not uploading the tracking manually, unless there is an INR case, in which case we do.
Sometimes it works automatically, sometimes it doesnt
BUT everytime tracking is uploaded, either manually or automatically, eBay doesn't recognise it and by that I mean it knows its a Royal Mail tracking number but it takes zero action with it - ie items aren't marked as posted, tracked or delivered nor are they, for the purposes of an INR case, a resolution because if there is a valid tracking number eBay should lock out the tracking number and mark the item as delivered.
I've uploaded an image to show this.
24-09-2025 5:32 PM
I've also uploaded another image showing 3 items posted on the 4th August.
All the same postage, all the same time, all the same postage option
So tracking should've uploaded automatically?
1 out of 3 did.
2 out of 3 didnt.
The automatic feedback for the one that was delivered should kick in leave automatic feedback for the one marked as delivered.
It didnt
Just to fill in the plot, we've got tracking from RM for all 3 items and all 3 items show as delivered on the 6th.
Not only does it not work - it doesn't work consistently. It's erratic in what it does and does not do.

I was aware of an issue with T24/T48 tracking not updating within eBay; I wasn't aware RM24/RM48 was affected too. I believe because the tracking doesn't show a delivered status within eBay (although it does on RM's website) no automatic feedback is being left after 7 days.
This could be an eBay or a Royal Mail issue. However, if there was an API issue with Royal Mail I would expect sellers on other platforms (especially Amazon) to be having issues. As far as I can tell they're not.

It doesnt seem to be RM because RM are generating a tracking number and as you said if it was RM it would be Amazon etc affected as well, especially not for up to 3 months anyway.
Methinks its a problem with the RM/eBay integration somehow and I think it's a very small percentage of sellers affected - surely there would be more screaming if it was widescale. It also seems to be iterative because its becoming more widespread which would indicate some kind of overflow issue. Maybe too many tracking numbers are flooding eBay's servers and as a result they could be dropping off, one account at a time. It's an IT / integration issue and I'm sure as it becomes more widespread that the complaints will get louder until it gets fixed, or botched into looking fixed for the short term.
The issue is that even if you upload a tracking number eBay see it, recognise it as a Royal Mail tracking number then that's it. No further action - so eBay isnt obviously checking back to RM to confirm it has been delivered.
It's a curious one and we'll never know what caused it or what the solution was (or maybe it wont be solved)

Well to wee on your theory, I do not use RM, tracking is ported across as soon as I pay for labels, cant see why if you have tracking numbers people wait to upload them.
Most of my sales arrive in the time frame allowed, the odd one doesnt, but these thing shappen.
Seems they have done something and its broken, and no doubt will be for a while. Be interest to hear from sellers that are still getting auto feedback if any.

I think I'm getting all mine. I use Royal Mail second class signed for and always scan tracking details into ebay myself ahead of dropping at post office.

Feedback is broken anyhow, mine is saying 100% but I have 2 negs.
Not affecting sales, so one less thing to complain about
24-09-2025 8:33 PM
It's just the way it is calculated - rounded up so anything over 99.555 on average is declared as 100%. We have 5 negs and also 100% rating overall.

If you're not using RM, your eBay tracking is updating correctly yet you're having the same issue then it is obviously a problem that exists entirely within eBay regardless of the carrier involved; thank you for pointing that out.
Has anybody received automated feedback for an order placed after 11th September? It may be coincidence but trying to spot a pattern I noticed that the last automated feedback received by myself and by @twofourdeltasurplus was for orders placed on 11th September. Everyone else's automated feedback was left either for an order placed before that date or I simply couldn't tell when the item was purchased because the feedback was left for a multi-quantity listing.

Just had a small batch of auto left, so maybe its fixed now.
I did try and workout when it all went wrong but quickly gave up, as at times I have the memory retention of a very old goldfish.
But looking at my orders and delivery times there is a huge gap of nothignness when it should of worked.
suppose something is better than nothing, see what they mess about with tomorrow.

Order placed on 13th is my last auto fb. It came in a bundle from 10th-13th

Just to add in some extra spice, we have another eBay account selling different items, from the same RM account. It gets automatic feedback no issue whatsoever and has had several yesterday alone.
25-09-2025 8:37 AM
There has been a couple of problems a while ago which may be related.
There was a day or so where RM labels purchased via eBay weren't populating the tracking field.
I had to manually update mine for that period. There's a discussion somewhere.
There was also a problem with RM 'YA' prefix tracking numbers not working.
Also mentioned on this board.

"Has anybody received automated feedback for an order placed after 11th September?"
I have one for 12th Sept. order delivered 15th.
I don't think there's any way to check the date auto feedback was left.

Hi
The last eBay auto feedback we had was for an order on 30th August 2025, and nothing after this date despite a flurry of sales since this date and buyers not leaving feedback themselves.
Best wishes
