People may not know this, if your item sold and listed with the simple delivery option. You can not make any changes to the Postal service or change the time from 48 to 24 or even try to see the buyers address. Not possible!
The only way is to Cancel the listing and select Custom postage from the Ebay App. ( not using a pc). Also ebay will not refund the simple delivery label cost if the seller chooses not to use it if a listing is not cancelled and the seller some how uses their own postage label without cancelling the sale. (Ebay have become very unfair platform now)

I suggest you read some of the other threads on SD.
There is no need to create a new label if the size and/or dimensions differ, once an item is packaged, UNLESS the package is too large for either of the networks to accept.
This has been done to death elsewhere. You should be more sure of these matters before posting inaccurate advice, even if it is what the poster wants to hear.

You are clearly bending the rules, if the item label says 1-2kg thats how much you can post. You can not post are larger item and as your a business you have boxes in your storage. Private sellers only find boxes when item is sold and who knows what size box is available.
Your clearly missing the point and want to just accept what ever ebay do. I know ebay at back of my hand. I am only here to make people aware.

Then please stop making people aware about a private sellers issue, on a BUSINESS forum!
It's pointless telling people about something that simply does not effect them.

'.......if the item label says 1-2kg thats how much you can post. You can not post are larger item.....'

You can now if you're using Simple Delivery.
Under the S.D. system, the label has 'marketplace seller' written on it. Provided you used ebay's S.D. estimate of the weight of your parcel, this 'marketplace seller' stamp means that *even if the parcel weighs more* than what is on the label, the Post Office or Evri must take it.
Ebay will 'straighten things out' with the delivery company themselves.....it's all part of their new contracts with Royal Mail and Evri.
I know it seems so wrong to go to a post office with the wrong postage label and expect them to accept it, but this is what should happen now...
(there are still a few post office managers who haven't 'read the memo' yet and are not happy with it. But it will all be ironed out in the end!)

If you care about your business you need to learn the customer. Private ebayers are your customers aswell. Not good to have tunnel vision.

Thank you Lucy! For the echo👌

It is nothing to do with what I know or don't know about private sellers.
What you are doing is shouting about something that has been done to death, in the wrong place.
16-04-2025 3:14 PM
You can view the buyer's address by clicking on the label without printing it
16-04-2025 3:14 PM
So as Business seller your happy for Ebay to charge Buyer Protection which does effect you and your sales.
Unless your selling Loo Rolls, sales are down across the Platform and Ebay are not doing a good job.
16-04-2025 3:16 PM
It’s pointless then because the label has been accepted. The point is to have the address before accepting SD.

There is no buyer protection fee to pay when buying from a registered business seller.
16-04-2025 3:42 PM
'....and you can bypass the simple
postage thing. I did it all the time. It’s easy.'
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
You can't now.
It's being made mandatory on all private selling accounts.
16-04-2025 3:52 PM
Lucy, Thank again. Some seller are so out of touch with what Ebay are doing its a nightmare to walk on the straight line. Ebay keep changing the goal post and some seller play catch up.
16-04-2025 3:54 PM
Thats because as a business seller your paying the price as a fee to Ebay.
16-04-2025 4:02 PM
Yes, I'm happy for Ebay to charge private sellers fees.
That in itself is not a cause for lower sales.
I suggest that you look at the general state of the country currently, as regards sales.
But even that does not change the fact, that you are going on about something that has been done to death and on the wrong forum.
16-04-2025 4:03 PM
It has just changed to being mandatory! So unless the item is on the excluded list, labels are likely to be paid for twice.
16-04-2025 6:35 PM
I can say this for sure, Ebay have no control over there own system now. All scripts and A.I. Are running on time track. There is not a single Ebay support agent that can make a change while your on the phone. It all get sent to dev support team who have to intervene between the system and make corrections which is then cycle through a time track. Simple Delivery and Buyer Protection is a biggest Con on Ebay. It suppose to be optional but they are making it mandtory so your trapped. I used to love Ebay but since Ebay have become Vinted it’s lost its own Identity.

If eBay are happy “recommending” 2 kg for a book collection weighing 5kg and will pick up the tab as they say they will
that’s a positive for buyers
😐😀
Well for sellers too as it would attract more buyers
not so great for rM unless it’s a negligible thing for them
16-04-2025 7:41 PM
Please show me where does it say that in the Ebay policy. You have just assumed this and twisted the rule.
