Any thoughts as why would suddenly ebay sales would do ZERO since start of February.
We have been closely monitoring our sales and since start of January 2025 sales are down. But they have now completely died as soon as February started.

January not too bad. February dire, March dire. I will not be listing anything else I will let my existing listings run out, when its gone its gone. Not worth the effort any longer. Just seem to send offers to watchers then nothing. Tweeked prices nothing. Then the HMRC want their share they get notified when your gross is £1000? Absolute waste of time be better off at a car boot.

2025 has been a nightmare. I used to dispatch daily, but now it's only every other day. Sales have plummeted, now down to just 5 sales every week. I’m thinking of downgrading from a featured shop to a basic subscription. Sales are so bad that they barely cover my storage rent or internet costs. I’m trying to reduce my stock by selling it wholesale on fb. If anyone interested im clearing my stock.

Absolutely terrible now. I've used Ebay for do many years but it has now really declined. I hardly get any views on items I'm selling. Postage changes are awful now also . My items used to sell quickly but no longer. I've even boosted a few items in desperation but makes no difference. Just started listing on Vinted instead as seems like a waste of time on Ebay sadly now.

I would love to know how selling a bottle of perfume that is half full, can be classified as "New Other".......

One of the variables is that eBay restrict viewing
They must be
one of their stupid algorithms is doing it
it’s impossible that it isn’t

I am perfectly aware of why people would want fragrances etc.
However, a half bottle sold as new, is NOT new!
Not on any planet does that qualify.
Or would call a bottle of coke from the shop, that someone had drunk half of "New"?
There is no difference.

Used perfumes and part bottles are not allowed to be sold on eBay
Cosmetics and perfumes that aren't allowed include, but aren't limited to:

I totally agree with everything you wrote about fragrances, bit of a frag head myself.
However as others have pointed out it goes against eBay’s policies, and you’ll find the same issue on V*nted.
I even think decants are being disallowed.
I think they should rephrase the conditions in fragrances, if you can’t sell anything other than new then why make it an option.
I do have one issue with the fragrance ‘used’ term, it may sound pedantic but the liquid in an open bottle isn’t used, the bottle has been opened and used to expel the contents.

Years ago you could list part-sprayed or even empty bottles as ‘Used’ so no problem.
But on eBay that category no longer permits listing anything other than ‘New’ or ‘New Other’.
I was led to believe this was due to a law change prohibiting the sale of part-used cosmetics on hygiene grounds?
DePop and other sites won’t even permit such items and will remove them.
EBay’s solution was to only allow you to sell as ‘New’, but of course, like everything on here it isn’t policed.
This is why if you search any fragrance and part-sprayed, you’ll still find several listings but always listed as ‘New’ or ‘New Other’ because that’s all a seller can select.
Doesn’t make it right as to achieve legal compliance these shouldn’t be available at all but reporting them is a waste of time.
I had a related issue with a private seller trying to sell a vacuum cleaner as ‘New’, describing it as “brand new in box” then right at the end of the description “only used twice”!!
Reported that to eBay, they did nothing and said the listing didn’t breach any listing policies…..!
As an aside, most if not all postal carriers prohibit the carriage of ‘part-used’ fragrance/EDP/EDT bottles too, but people still post them out.

Sorry, looks like we all posted same stuff at the same time 😄.

Only options are New & New Other in fragrances.
People still list opened/used fragrances though (incorrectly of course) as eBay do not seem to police it unlike other sites that remove such listings immediately.
