Covid-19 vaccine .....

Now that the vaccination programme is about to be rolled out soon, are you in the yay, nay or maybe after you see some results of others taking it camp if you are offered it ?

Personally I am in the yay camp if it gets  me back to some kind of normality in the future because all these constant precautions are beginning to affect me.

Do you mean the theories espoused by the World cover for china organisation at the beginning of this crisis?

The same theories that risked the rest of the world?

No worse than seasonal flu, no cause for concern  stopping travel from china was an overeaction no need to close borders etc etc etc.

It is  difficult to see - find anything the who got right.

You are correct there are alot of silly conspiracy theories - about Covid, however you seem to have gone slightly off topic - the original post was 'Would you take the vaccine'?  There are also alot of silly conspiracy theories about the vaccine too, however there are very serious concerns as well. Astro raises one point which I am aware of, about the court case in Germany (however if it's the same one I know about it's actually gone to the EMA which is the European Medical Association and involves highly respected British Scientists who have made comments on the BMJ site). Can anyone deny the vaccine has been rushed through? Can anyone deny that there must be risks - not interested in the fact that the whole world and his dog have been doing research into a vaccine - the real research started this morning!

As I said before I will wait and see and maybe 12 months down the line I'll assess again.

BUT I really hope that the vaccine works and isn't just another money spinner for Pharmecutical companies the world over...

Yes, if you're being really strict about being "on topic" then it has drifted a bit but don't all discussions drift while revolving around the issue at hand?

As to the vaccine, yes, it has been "rushed" but needs must? Often, when researching something new, it takes a long time because only a small amount of resouces is given over to it.

In the case of covid-19, many companies have thrown a great deal of resources in to the research in an effort to find a "cure" which has shortened the time taken to produce something effective.

They have given to end product to a large number of people and now it's up to individuals to make their own mind up as to whether to accept a jab or not.

..and this evening we get the news that the ONS figures that we used to engage the latest lockdown were wrong! You couldn't make it up could you.. and they wonder why there are conspiracy theories? LOL

The BBC...the doom mongers. Every day they gravely announce the number of 'deaths' FROM ANY CAUSE within 28 days of a positive test! Who are they trying to kid?  I don't know one single person who has had COVID and been actually ill. I know a few that have had a 'positive' test and not been ill in the slightest. Including one person who didn't keep her test appointment, but still had a letter telling her she was positive. It's the biggest con trick in history.

I know one person who has had COVID - and sadly he died, but it was a real bad string of events.

He'd had a stroke 8 years ago was in a wheel chair, his wife was his career and she had to have a knee operation. So she had to put him in a care home for 3 weeks - he caught it in there and she never saw him again! It was sad, she is blaming herself, I'm sad as we were doing there shopping during the first lockdown to help them shield.

I do believe COVID exists - it's just that everything is being twisted and legs being added. But to what cause - easy to say a reset but to orchestrate that is so difficult

What I don't understand is how do those who claim that the Covid pandemic is a con explain the nearly quarter of a million people who have been hospitalised with it - are they all part of the con trick as well as the nurses and doctors treating them?

The conspiracy theorists who deny the seriousness of the pandemic ignore those who spend long periods in hospital struggling to breath.

They also ignore the significant percentage who suffer long term, debilitating after effects, bad enough for the NHS to set up a number of clinics to try and deal with them.

All they go on about in their attempts to prove their case, is claimed false deaths and the fact many only have a mild attack.

Possibily the growing signs it may cause impotence by affecting the vascular system, might make some think again.

There are Doctors, nurses, virologists all over the world who have questioned the response to the virus. They have been swiftly locked down and ridiculed and silenced. In fact the media in general has not mentioned anything or anyone who dares to put forward any alternative narrative. And if I were a nurse in the NHS today, I would think twice about voicing any concerns.

As for the hospitalisations...sure...there are people who have been very ill in hospital and some have died, WITH the virus, but have they actually died OF it? There have been no post mortems to ascertain the exact cause of death. And the average age of those who have died WITH the virus is 82 years of age.

No one is saying that the virus is not serious. Most people who get it are not badly affected by it. The people who die, or have serious effects are people who probably have underlying health conditions. Some people who have what is termed 'long COVID' are quite debilitated.

As for the clinics...how many Nightingale Hospitals did the government provide....and how many have actually been used...Even at the height of the Pandemic? Even the BBC...when it doles out the daily dose of gloom, gives out the number of deaths, but does not actually read out the full sentence written underneath. 'Deaths 'FROM ANY CAUSE' within 28 days of a positive COVID test.

This is diverting from the intended topic, which is the COVID vaccine. But there are as many unanswered questions about the vaccine as there are about the virus.

Probably about 20% of the UK population have pre existing conditions which can be exacerbated by covid to the degree they cause death or permanent damage.

Previous to contracting the virus, they could look forward to many years of life.

About 5% of those aged 16-49 who recover from the virus, are likely to suffer over two months of 'long covid'.

And no, the vaccine has not been linked to impotency, some have suggested it it might lead to infertility, however there is no actual evidence of that.

To be honest I really do not care what all these conspiracy theorists say nor the selfish brigade who think everything will be alright as long as they can do as they please !

I do not want to spend the rest of my life more or less locked up or trying to move around in a country that is locked up. I wonder what the selfish brigade will say in a few months time when that little shop they always used is closed for good because the rules and regulations stopped them from opening because the virus numbers stayed high or that nice elderly couple they and others always talked when they were doing their garden DIE because they caught the virus who knows where, maybe from the people who thought the rules and regulations do not apply to them.

At the moment until I get the vaccination I shall follow the rules and regulations and maybe next year I can travel in the UK and enjoy this island and stay in other parts of it while I do.

BH..you are quite correct, the word I should have used is 'infertility', rather than 'impotency'. The vaccine has been linked to infertility.
