Doesn't really make any difference who he is,but it fact he tweeteds/retweeted is correct.

Ending free movement ends free movement. Many people who voted leave have not got a scooby doo what it means- fact.

They thought by voting leave and stopping all the Johnny foreigners from coming from EUROPE  sorts out their biggoted beliefs. The Tommy Robinsons/ Farages etc etc

It does the opposite- and more people from outside EUROPE - ie Pakistan/India/ALL Africa/ (basically a lot of muslims) everyone not in EU will increase to make up the shortfall that are req'd in NHS, agriculture, services etc.

So the thought they were trying to stop all the muslims coming in from Europe?? -Since when did Europe become a muslim area?

Good old Farage- he sold you one sad little ill pup there didn't he! . It doesn't sort refugees or asylum seekers- full stop.

Oh btw, if you want that quiet we break in rest of EU countries like spain/portugal/greece for a holiday-good luck with the visas and mega delays at airports etc. Oops and if your thinking of retiring -well think again.

Does NO DEAL sound good now Astro ?????? Maybe You and Cee-dee don't get out much and want to set at bottom of Snowdonia in the sun for your breaks but quite a few people like to holiday in the sun. That's just a wee taster of free movement.upside_down

Yup . Scottish MP's and MSP'S (apart from the Tories) have been saying this from the start of this process. That sector relies heavily on seasonal pickers from EU. I cannot for the life of me understand why farmers in that sector,or farmers in the export sector (lamb, beef etc)voted leave. Same goes for the fishermen who rely on fish exports (next day delivery) to EU voting leave .

Its just nuts-nuts i tell you

My partner was at the local credit union for a meeting on friday, her friend was running late so she got a taxi in,Instead of waiting for a family to cross the road the driver sewrved around them and shouted at them to get back to their own country,(they were Asian),

She asked why he said that,he ranted on about them "taking all our jobs" Unfortunately (for him) the women in question is a councillor on North tyneside council, she got his taxi licence and car registration details and made a report to the licensing authority, brexit has brought the nastiness out in certain people

Nigel Farage didn't sell me anything ...I did my own research and made my own decisions. And yes...No Deal sounds just fabulous to me. Hopefully it will all be decided soon, one way or another. I've seen enough of Europe to make me never want to go there again..and I'm already retired, thank you! 🙂😫

It's ironic isn't it. The eu was set up to put an end to wars in europe. Must be closer to civil unrest throughout Europe now than ever! Never has there been more division, more extreme views - from both sides and never has there been a bigger lack of democracy! I've seen lies, lies and more lies, I've seen divisions between political parties that make the grand canyon look small. I've seen morons become experts on an issue that with one breath they say 'No-one knows what will happen' ...and the next 'this will result in...' They ignore the will of the people and then wonder why extremism is growing?

Governed by ******* idiots! - Dare anyone disagree with that?

Who is saying that we will no longer be able to get seasonal workers? They will come if the pound is strong enough to make it worthwhile, we also have thousands of students of our own who might take kindly to the thought of reducing their student debt assuming they have a work ethic! And are you saying that we will no longer be welcome in Amsterdam, Bagamuff, or on a European River cruise? No one wants to shut ourselves off from Europe we simply wish to be able to govern ourselves and take care of our own security a bit like the SNP do but for our island. The problem we have is one of weak governance in a house where everyone’s an expert yet they are all devoid of answers! Twitter is the same full of those who love the sound of their own opinions but detest anyone who disagrees! I think we have lost our ability to discuss things rationally preferring to cut off our own noses to spite our face!
Oh and joe, your tale of what happened to your partner in the taxi would never happen around here, if you go down to Preston station the black cabs are lined up and the drivers are all huddled around each other in there flowing robes, you might think you have arrived at Islamabad Central.

The reason, we can't get seasonal workers is...  The farmers employ blocks of workers from 'one' person who arranges their arrival and in many cases the labourers are then either accomodated in the farmers portacabins or in communal residence. The farmer obviously gets a kick back off his accommodation and can avoid paying the 'going' rate for the labour as he's getting a chunk back, plus his workforce is onsite!

If students went to try and get a job they would not be given an opportunity as the farmers would be effectively paying them more money and would have to deal with individuals - more grief! Easy way to avoid using them is say they have to live on site.

The EU is specifically designed to keep wages low and labour cheap - but Jeremy can't see it - or maybe he can but his party can't so they keep him in line!

Anyway go to Caen - and see what is now hundreds of ideal labourers and 'brain surgeons' (LOL) all waiting for a cruise to the UK - strange the BBC plays it down! I've been watching it grow over the last 2 years as I travel quarterly therough the port. Risen from the odd one or two, to hundreds and I'm going back next week - expect to see lots more this time. People in Caen are complaining as they have 36 policemen and most of them spend their day in the port.

It’s mainly those who employ seasonal workers and that are already facing shortages who are saying there will be further shortages.

Of course “they will come” if the pound is “strong enough” and we all know how good Brexit has been for the pound!

As for students taking on the work many already do but it is not always easy to make harvest time coincide with university and college breaks.

Why are there still so many people trying to get into the U.K. we don’t have any affordable housing, or if you listen to those on benefits, nothing worth having, So what is it about our small island that acts as a magnet for so many, and given the perilous journey they have made why don’t they stay in their homelands and seek to reform things!

In response to Creeky, I was simply suggesting that our own students might fill some of the gap however my understanding has always been that seasonal workers would still be welcomed, if my understanding is wrong then I stand corrected!

I really do wish you would paragraph stuff. Sore on the eyes trying to read your gumph.

Well if you watched the program last night it was there in black and white.A fool and his money saying he voted leave for his country, aye ok mate. He can't now get enough seasonal workers to pick his fruit because very limited amounts of UK kids want to pick it for minimum wage as the EU seasonal workers will do.So look forward to the strawberries and raspberries etc rotting in the fields.

Welcome to Amsterdam. Well you won't be naw, not as much. If you have a NO DEAL  when the free movement ends- no old people retiring to Spain / no kids /students going abroad to travel, educate themselves. You can holiday yes,but you'll need to apply for a visa. No more travelling around Europe willy nilly . Same the other way. No European students can come here to our uni's etc either.

Less part time pot washers in restaurants ,seasonal fruit pickers to supply produce to the supermarkets,no carers /bum wipers in care homes and NHS. That's just the tip of the iceberg in freedom of movement.

So you don't want to shut ourselves off- well, isn't that what we're doing. Last week I could easily have booked a flight to Magaluf for a week.No hassle ,just jump in a plane ,live it up by the beach bar, sing a few songs at the karaoke .Fly back the following week no probs. I could in the EU do that month in month out forever till day i die. This week- naw!

Now, I'll need to apply for a visa, accommodation will probably be more, flights will cost more. Would probably not be as welcomed, although I always have a solution for that.Say your Scottish and there's nae drama's!

On Scottish government. Been the best government in hundred years up here and we know it.More schools/more hospitals/NHS is better than rest UK /fairer society all round. Only the bigots and unionists say other wise. I live here- you don't !!

Labour did nothing in Scotland-nothing but get us into debt with PFI's.

Labour and Tories are sick as pigs  cos there golden goose has gone. They can't con us anymore and lie. The Internet has opened up a wealth of knowledge and their reading and informing themselves. What happened to their wealth ,why are we called down all the time like we're some sort of backward nation that always needs fed from Westmonstor- well it's nonsense and they've woke up.

We're perfectly happy raising our own taxes and running our own country thanks very much. I've never gave my next door neighbour any of my wages at the end of the month and let them decide what i get back in pocket money- HAVE YOU??

IT'S TIME TO PUT A STOP TO THIS NONSENSE-

Labour spent millions on PFI's that we'll pay guarantees on for years. hardly built any houses.Sat on council's raking it in as councillors and then the trade unionists- oh well. I'm awe right jack wae ma big salary and pension- absolute conmen the lot of them..

Don't get me started of what they Labour and Tory used to do in the Catholic and Protestants divide either - that's a huge other story . Divide and conquer - two cheeks of the same backside the pair of them!

EU confirms visa-free travel after Brexit

The European Union has confirmed that, even in the event of a no-deal exit, UK citizens will not need a visa to travel within the EU. You will be able to travel to the EU for up to 90 days in a 180 day period, visa-free.

Two weeks ago the nation’s Brexiteers were calling on the Queen, an unelected head of state, to ‘restore democracy’. So utterly stupid are some of them that they are now blaming the poor old girl for where we are now...

So you've never given your next door neighbour any of your wages and let them decide what you get back as pocket money? What do you think the EU is doing? We pay them billions and they throw us a few crumbs occasionally to be spent on projects that they like. That's why we in Wales voted out..because we are sick of being handed crumbs of our own money. And Scotland is no different. You may not like being tied to Westminster, but being tied to Brussels is far worse. But maybe the Scots like being tied to Nanny Brussels apron strings.

And if farmers won't pay a decent wage to have their produce picked, then they deserve to have it rot. And if we have to pay more for our fruit and veg..then so be it.

I have to repeat again Astro you've been lied to-.

Not a single person in the EU is unelected. All EU members are elected democratically. If they are not elected they are not EU people. They are EC, (European Commission), and the clue is in the title, “European Commission”. They are paid for, (commissioned), by the EU and are factually the EU’s Civil Servants,. As such they have absolutely no decision making powers whatsoever. They do not have votes in the decision making European parliament.

Quite Simply no European Commissioner has any decision making powers and thus if they do enforce any EU rules, (and the EU really cannot enforce rules), for if they could all EU member states would have to use the Euro and a third of them do not.

EU Commissioners research, advise and carry out the decisions made by elected EU parliamentarians – they do not make decisions.

I think Wales and Scotland will be shafted IF we do eventually leave -IF. We won't get the same level of rebates back from UK government that's for sure- farmers watch out.

Also how much does the UK benefit from the EU -WELL

The CBI estimates that the net benefit of EU membership is worth 4-5% of GDP to the UK, or £62bn-£78bn per year. In 2014, the ONS reported that the EU, which is the world's biggest economy, accounted for 44.6 per cent of all UK exports of goods and services, and 53.2 per cent of the UK's imports of goods and services.25 Jun 2016

So if we're paying in say 10-15 billion(not sure on exact figure, probably lower) and get back a good percentage of that back in subsidy projects I'd say its a no brainer.

If we leave let see how much the NHS,the farmers, the fishermen, the local communities get from Tory run Westmonstor- the saga continues. You bet it won't be ordinary guy in the street, that's a certainty.

End of lesson- thank you.
