Hello to all our old friends and newcomers alike. Welcome to Bill & Charlie's Bar - the place to meet other posters and to sit and chat while you sample your favourite tipple. Plenty to drink, lots of joking but alas no smoking.

We are open all hours (hic) and run a respectable Bar. (Although I argued with Charlie until I was blue in the face over that one!) No swearing, spitting or drun..drunk...drunken beeeehaviour (hic). We have a couple of bouncers to hand ~ she comes in on Friday nights.

Teetotallers are welcome and will be treated as normal. I jest ~ soft drinks are available at the bar along with light snacks. And finally, please use the emergency exit when Bill rambles on about the good ol' days and put plugs in your ears when Charlie 'sings'.

Flippin' cold here too ... and due to be wet and windy as well for the rest of the week. :_|  Why did I buy those summer bedding plants in that hot spell we had in March? :_|:_|

Safi, I'm just being nosy, hope you'll forgive me. Does your mum want to go in a home? Why would she need to go in one?

If she is becoming forgetful maybe you should try pumping her full with Omega 3, about at least 5000 mg per day, and see if it gives an improvement.

I'm just putting my nose in, as there are sometimes still other options. 🙂

#5309 Harry , hey no I don't mind. Very kind of you ask . She's lovely really ,but lives more and more in her own world (the past). Mitzi helped me to understand this was normal a while ago.I don't think she wants be anywhere except her own home.Thing is she's getting frail and has various age-related problems inc.macular degeneration.I'd sortah like her to live with us, but my husband isn't for it.He thinks we would have no time for ourselves (you see we've twins,toddlers).My sisters and brothers , well, they don't live locally and they're a bit older than me and I think they're seeing problems ahead, whereas I'm living in the present. for now anyway. She's at that stage where I don't believe she's wholly truthful with the doctor and doesn't want strangers in the house.(had thought about a home-help).If I left her looking after the twins , I'd come back to chaos and around six months ago , I'd have laughed at the idea.I'm just taking it one day at a time with her and we seem to be going along ok.:-)
