Ebay font confusion over ells.

A while back I sent an item out which didnt arrive.

I spotted later the post code had a letter I in it.

Is this an eye or an ell ?

Ebays font causes confusion.

So now I am changing the I to a different font which has top and bottom bars on the I to stop confusion.

Given that postcodes are usually shown in capital letters the logical assumption would be that it was an eye rather than an ell.

I was going to suggest temporarily changing the font to check and/or confirm the letter in question but you've already mentioned doing that. I can't think of any other reliable method of checking.

I think the fact that you spotted a potential issue with a postcode after an item went missing was just coincidence.

*Sigh* yes Buyers do this to me quite regularly. My workaround to double-check their postcode is to copy and paste it into Royal Mail's Postcode Finder tool.

When using the Post Office they check this address tool when booking in your package, so they should also catch it then.

Same for me when I was selling,  but I used Google Maps to see which was ' not found' ,  or showed the correct postcode's location when showing their google eyed map!  👀
