Hello
I have never encountered this problem before.
When I try to use the contact eBay system where it opens up the box to chat I cannot type anything at all.
It shows my previous message history but I cannot type anything at all to access either the bot or a eBay representative.
I have tried clearing the cookies to the browser used a different device and every time it’s the same please see the screenshot.
It’s greyed out. I can’t type anything. It’s driving me crazy. How do I resolve this? Is it a technical issue.

Hi everyone,
Just wanted to say that if you are experiencing the issue above (being unable to contact customer services because the option is greyed out) this is a technical issue, and I've reported all the users in this thread saying that the same is happening to them. Once this is resolved, I'll post back here to let you know.

With the volume of 'errors' / 'glitches' wouldn't having an online log of ongoing 'tech problems' as the US operates make sense and save members and even yourself from wasting time looking for solutions and spreading words of 'wisdom' to those who need 'em?

Yes. I got refund and completely.
But I one thing I had a very strange experience with the seller.
The seller eventually refunded me completely.
However the seller still sent the packaged "A4 white paper" according to the original tracking code. from Evri. I found this very strange and asked the seller about it. The seller told me to "ignore it."
I don’t know, so I asked the seller, and the seller just replied to me: “ignore it”; this is indeed weird and intriguing!🙄

This is happening to me too clive730.. the chat is greyed out too, ive got a seller who i had a damaged item from offer me part refund on item via messege on ebay, I opened Ebay case and he told me to close it as part refund coming but now ignoring me.

Hello everybody. Do you have the add-on "No Script" installed on the desktop web browser by any chance? eBay has changed something in the recent month. So, I allowed an element through and chat and call back was restored. I do not remember what exactly I allowed, (trusted). Something beginning with the letter, "a" if I recall.

Just wanna add that I'm facing the same issue. It occured for me after selecting "Hard of hearing" as I was unable to speak on the phone at the time, and that was the only option presented to me. I clicked "hard of hearing" hoping that an option to speak to someone on live chat would become available.
Looking at the other images here, it seems that everyone else may have been in a similar situation - they request an agent and only get an option for a call, then the chat malfunctions and greys out.
I think for me, the chat thinks it has opened this "hard of hearing" page and has paused access to the chat window. But this never refreshes and the chat is stuck in this state.
The issue is definitely account specific, as I also have a business account which does not have the issue. I can use the same browser and get the chat working on a different account.

Is there any update regarding an ETA on this fix? I see this post has been open for quite some time now.

My account likewise is unable to use the chat. It has been stuck like this for a month. I did manage to get on the phone with an Ebay representative/customer service and they did ticket the issue. Had no information nor resolution since.
