I have several items in my basket, all UK sellers and I am in the UK with ebay UK account
When I try to pay I am told that due to my location I cannot buy these items.
Clearly an error and a bit irritating (probaly made worse by foolishly trying the virtual assistant route!
Any idea when it might be fixed?

I have had this problem for over a month now.
EBAY support tell me it is the location of the items I am trying to purchase but if I get my wife to login using her credentials on the same PC she can buy them no problem. I have cross checked all settings with my wifes account and nothing different other than expected information.
After 22 years of an EBAY account with no problems, this started and now I am about to give up using EBAY. It was interesting to see that someone else closed there account, opened a new one and still had the same problem.
I wonder if my account has somehow been switched to the US account without me knowing

Hi neikeel,
I've just gotten an update on this, and it looks like there was an actual issue related to locations that was preventing you from buying the item you shared with me. So, it was not a technical issue, at least not for that item. While I would love to provide you with more information, this is as much as I can share over here due to privacy and security reason. If you wish to discuss this case more specifically, you can always contact customer support.
Thank you,
Marco

I have the same issue past few days and it is frustrating. Cannot purchase from UK based sellers even from sellers with whom I have a purchase history. I've had this ebay account for 20 years.

Yup. Me too. More than 20 years of a UK account a d can't buy most stuff on eBay.
So frustrating.

Try purchasing one entirely different individual item by itself to rule out a problem with a specific listing, or a problem with other items in your cart.
Try another payment method to rule out a problem with your payment.
Try using another browser to rule out a browser issue.
Try using another device to rule out a device issue.
Try using another network connection to rule out a network issue. Try using the eBay app when not connected to your usual WiFi.
Try checking out on ebay.ca or ebay.ie to rule out a specific site issue.
Try checking out as a guest to rule out an account issue. Or try checking with a different eBay account.

Well, I turned my WiFi off and tried to use my mobile internet, and it worked. At least there is one option to solve this issue in my case.

Are any of you in Northern Ireland, or Scottish Highlands and Islands
Reading between the lines of what is posted up there, it sounds like you are blocked by virtue of your location, which, within the UKwould be NI. Some sellers also block Highlands and Islands as if they don't use Royal Mail to post the items, there is a surcharge on postage.
New GSPR legislation came in just recently meaning many sellers will no longer sell to NI as it is just not cost effective having to comply with legislation introduced very recently.
If you are in NI, you will find that, moving forward, you will struggle to buy direct from the UK from a large number of sellers due to the problems caused by GPSR.
You will need to get someone in the UK to buy the item and then have them send it on to you after delivery (on a non-commercial basis) if you want to purchase from sellers who have to block NI.
The new GSPR legislation has made it virtually impossible for small sellers to sell to NI from now on.

This is not the case. Location has been checked
one person even closed their account and opened a new one only to find they had the same problem

Did anyone get this resolved? I have a similar issue where I've sold an item and the buyer can't buy it because they get a message saying it can't be posted to the UK.
But my item can be posted in the UK and the buyer is in the UK. At the moment I can't do anything, completely stuck
