A topic which has been extensively covered on here and no wonder! These buyer protection fees were applied to all of my listings at some point over the last 24 hours. The eBay article/guide admits they have been introduced to support the change to no seller fees and, at this point, only relate to the UK.
There appear to be a few IT glitches in the system which I have reported, as some private listings (including buy it now) don't show the buyer fee unless you go through to checkout (I guess the current formula for calculating the amount is known).
Also, if you send an offer to interested buyers the protection fee temporarily disappears from the listing until the offer comes to an end.
What a shambles!
