Hello,I have an item I'm selling on Ebay right now and I've put collection only.i have read that when the auction ends the buyer pays it then collects it and that's it.ive also read after the auction the seller asks buyer to pay in cash when picking item up but wont it still say pay now on Ebay!finally I've read that some people collect the item and then claim back the money through PayPal.can anyone clear this up for me

I listed a snuff bottle on ebay - antique, normal sort of listing, agate, not ivory or any other banned substance................ The listing was removed under the 'drug paraphanalia' policy. Apparently, it was because the bottle had a spoon, as they do, and spoons are 'drugs paraphanalia' - who knew ? The response from ebay - which for some reason can't be copied and pasted, says "Following from our conversation yesterday, regarding item 38288231401, the take down was correct. The spiral stem attached to the lid, would be considered a spoon, which is a prohibited component within the listing" Spoons, drugs paraphanalia............. hmmmmm. The same 'drugs paraphanalia' thing apparently doesn't apply to cigarette papers, lighters, bongs, opium pipes, normal pipes, bud blasters, opium scales, opium lamps, cocaine spoons or the like........... you get my drift .............. Anyone else see the problem here? Anyone have any idea how to persuade ebay that spoons in themselves are harmless ? Are we now starting a 'war on cutlery' - thoughts please ?

Hi I have some fixed price listings on sale. I want to know is it possible that I'll cancel certain orders I receive , what could be the reason I should provide. It's just because to avoid rather than going into a big trouble later on. It might sound stupid but I'm sure I'm looking for this thanks in advance

Today I received a message from a member offering a price that was lower than my asking, which lead me to externally view my listing and behold the price is marked up. Upon testing various prices it appears to be a flat 20% markup. Howver, when viewing the listing from other countries (.fr, .de, .com) the correct price is listed. Would any of the community know what would lead to a listing being marked up 20% in the uk?

I just thought everyone should be aware of an issue on the site regarding delivery time estimates being given to customers by eBay. I listed an item today, and specified the dispatch time as 5 working days. The item would be sent 2nd class mail which takes 2 to 3 working days. By my reckoning, if someone bought that item today (01/01/2021), delivery should be estimated for on or before the 13th of January. However, according to eBay, delivery is estimated on or before the 9th of January! I have just called customer services and have been told there is a fault on eBays systems that is being looked into, but they have no idea when it is likely to be fixed. Nor does it appear they have any plans to let buyers know abot this issue.

Now that I have to attach customs forms to all trade packages shipped to Germany is there any way round the list of prohibited items as listed on the Royal Mail website? Virtually everything I offer for sale is on that list and I'm sure that the same applies to most other traders now. I trade mostly in jewellery but according to the list there is a ban on anything made of or containing any metal (including all precious, base, alloyed etc.): all gemstones: anything made of or containing wood: + many other basic materials. Does this mean that I have to decline all purchase requests from Germany in future? I have been selling there quite regularly as a member of the EEC customs union and have not had any problems in the past but I am worried that I may now be facing the risk of having goods seized by customs without compensation.

Hi All, Can't seem to create any listings at moment. Keep getting this error message even though my item is not one of the restricted categories as per the error message link. Item is to be under Health & Beauty > Facial Skin Care > Moisturisers so it is not one of the restricted categories. Error message in full. It looks like there's a problem with this listing. Unfortunately, you can't list this item. When eBay manages payments, there are restrictions on certain types of items that can be sold. Hello everyone. I sold a jacket, 2-3 weeks prior to xmas, I have now a buyer saying he wants a bigger size( I don’t have, it was the only item) or a full refund. I do have stated that returns are not acceptable. I wouldn’t mind other time of the year tbh , but I could have sold it xmas time and made the money. I am not a business... what are my rights to refuse?

Although the buyer enters a Legal Contract under English Law, and then doesn't pay, Ebay are very weak to carry out harsh sentencing. Short of taking the buyer to court (which is an expensive undertaking) in my opinion ebay do not take strong enough action. Protection under Ebay Rules has greatly favoured the buyer over many years. The poor old seller ends up getting a NEGATIVE FEED BACK for no particular reason, which Ebay do nothing about. To try to get the balance back someway towards equal, my suggestion is to Ebay that buyers who enter into a contract, and then do not pay up should receive a NEGATIVE FEEDBACK. Perhaps then they might think twice before before pressing the buy button. 30terrym.

Hi all i recently sold an item and the buyer had a problem with it, I said no problem and offered a full refund once i had received the item back, ebay messaged me to start the refund process which i did, the item took nearly a week to return when it did i initiated the refund because the item took so long to get back to me buyer escalated case and ebay went in her favour and gave a refund then my fefund also went out of my bank, so to sum up buyer has had two refunds so i am out of pocket how do i get ebay to give me my money back. many thanks in advance

Hi everyone, my very honest buyer has just informed me that 2 days after the refund was sent his item has arrived. He never opened and INR. I'm unsure what to say or do without breaking ebays rules. Ideally i'd like my money but to give him a discount for his trouble and honesty too, if that's possible. Thanks for any help.
