Hello,I have an item I'm selling on Ebay right now and I've put collection only.i have read that when the auction ends the buyer pays it then collects it and that's it.ive also read after the auction the seller asks buyer to pay in cash when picking item up but wont it still say pay now on Ebay!finally I've read that some people collect the item and then claim back the money through PayPal.can anyone clear this up for me
It is safer to ask for cash on collection. Although there is no buyer protection for collected items, in theory if the buyer used their credit card with Paypal they could do a chargeback later. It's unlikely but possible. But if the buyer used Paypal it's not the end of the world.
After buyer has paid/collected you can mark as payment received and item dispatched via More Actions, right of item on your My eBay sold page.
One of the biggest problems for years.
From a sellers side it's not ideal for PayPal to be used on collected items.
From a buyer's side they have coverage on the eBay Money Back guarantee if they pay via PayPal.
Stick with cash on collection so there are no comebacks..
